We are seeking a motivated and experienced professional to join our client's team as a Director of Sales and Business Development. In this role, you will play a crucial part in introducing and promoting an innovative vehicle inspection system to potential customers, primarily targeting car dealerships. This is a fast-growing technology company in the mobility space, operating globally with a distributed team of 50+ individuals. This is a commission-based role at an exciting startup with an expectation of $120+ OTE. There are only 3 other US team members and you will get to help grow that team even more, so truly the only way to go is up!
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the management team to ensure customer success using the system in car dealerships.
- Develop and manage the commercial pipeline, including contract negotiations specifically with car dealerships.
- Conduct sales calls and visits to showcase the capabilities and benefits of the system.
- Work with product teams to enhance market-fit through feature development and rollout.
- Co-develop strategies and go-to-market plans tailored for the car dealership segment.
- Manage internal and external stakeholders effectively, including car dealership decision-makers.
- Identify and engage car dealerships to promote and sell a cutting-edge vehicle inspection system.
- Design and implement customer operations processes specific to car dealership requirements.
- Monitor and track customer engagement with the system in the car dealership sector.
- Engage in account management at both executive and operational levels with car dealership clients.
- Oversee pilot programs and demonstrations targeted at car dealership partners.
Skills and Experience:
- Strong communication skills and keen business acumen.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Native-level English proficiency; knowledge of other languages is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
- Ability to derive actionable solutions from data insights.
- Proven track record of managing at least 5 staff members directly.
- Team player with an open-minded and proactive approach.
- Previous involvement in technology deployments with small and enterprise customers, particularly car dealerships.
- Ability to work autonomously, taking ownership of projects and delivering results.
- Proactive problem solver with experience handling complex configurations.
- Demonstrated sales management experience of 2-3 years in fast-growing technology companies within the automotive industry, ranging from small startups to scale-ups.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in the automotive industry, particularly in vehicle inspections and car dealership operations.
- Knowledge of network devices and protocols.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and effective stakeholder management.
