About the Role

The Director of Publicity, Streaming Content & Awards is a key leadership position in promoting Crunchyroll's SVOD service offering to consumers, the press, the industry, and our licensors. Reporting to the Vice President of Communications, you will promote all of our SVOD content and position anime content as a growing part of "peak tv" and the streaming wars. You will work with colleagues across the globe for both strategy and hands-on execution where needed. You will also lead press and media in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

About You:

• You are familiar with anime, pop culture and current entertainment
• You have a deep contact list and relationships with media
• 12+ years of related experience in Public Relations, Communications
• You can travel domestically and internationally
• Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, English or related field
• You run multiple work streams simultaneously
• You respond to pressure or crisis situations while maintaining a calm presence
• You're able to focus and sculpt communications (written, verbal) to best meet our needs

A day in the life of our Director of Publicity, Streaming Content & Awards

• You will work on all major streaming premiere and seasonal launches – alongside Title Marketing and other channels – for a creative campaign promoting awareness of the platform and content
• You will work with the Events team on all TV/Streaming-related public events. Identify events and pop-culture moments (e.g. conventions, festivals, concerts, and more) where we can infuse the brand and content for publicity purposes
• You will manage a team of two staff, multiple agencies, and collaborate with PR colleagues in the US and globally
• You will liaise with media – specifically consumer outlets who cover entertainment, anime, genre and more. Pitch unique stories that embrace anime's zeitgeist and break through the noise of all entertainment offerings
• You will promote Crunchyroll's dubbing leadership, including strategy for publicity, partnering with voice actors and improving publicity for voice talent
• You will lead publicity of music initiatives on the Crunchyroll platform
• You will work with main executives, talent and creatives on all interviews, including prep, talking points and coaching
• You will establish best practices with licensors around communications and publicity activities, including licensor presentations around content
• You will set processes in placement for announcements, interviews, photo and video assets and more
• Alongside VP, Communications, their team and consultants/agencies, you will write all official press information related to SVOD content, including press releases, talking points, statements, pitches
• You will set strategy on all TV- and streaming-related awards, including the Emmys, HCA, Critics Choice, GLAAD and other pop cultural awards. In setting up an awards strategy, identify the right critics circles and engagement opportunities to reach voting bodies and influential voices in the industry
• You will work on all seasonal announcements, monthly highlights, trend stories, targeted pitches and more
• You will make targeted pitches and placements around celebrity love of anime, rise in popularity among tastemakers
