- We offer a competitive salary with a range of $149,000- $169,000 based on experience and skill set.

Position Overview
The Director, NA Operations is responsible for all production facilities (4 Sites in NA) for the Equipment and Tools (E&T) platform in the US, leading operational strategy, and Lean implementation. This individual will be a key change agent that ensures the sites within the region implement standard processes, tools, and systems to drive high performance at the local level.
Additionally, this person will oversee the domestic E&T footprint by evaluating manufacturing capabilities, identifying, and managing expansion or consolidation opportunities, and supporting facility integration during acquisition processes.
Ultimately, this role is responsible for ensuring all facilities operate safely and within budget, deliver on key operational metrics, and provide work environments that develop all members of the team. This individual will work and collaborate across various levels and functions within Signode, both inside and outside of the E&T platform. The role reports to the VP Pack Tech Operations and is based in the newly built Signode APT headquarters located in Roselle, IL.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for overall performance and direction of E&T production sites within the region to lead by example to drive a "safety first" mindset; ensures adherence to both Signode and legal
environmental, health, and safety standards and practices
Develop, direct, and lead local plant management
Coordinate activities such as assembly, supply chain, engineering, and maintenance to ensure operational efficiency and drive financial performance.
Monitor actual versus planned performance; implement remedies needed to close performance gaps
Assumes ultimate responsibility for quality of product and of workplace
Leads operational strategy and Lean implementation o Evaluate current operational state of locations; utilizing Lean concepts and principles, identify needed process and organizational changes; develop and manage roadmap for implementation.
Ensure Lean principles are properly implemented, including ensuring employees have needed tools, training, and documentation
Drives standardization efforts to identify, develop, and manage a core set of key performance indicators (KPI's) that allow for assessment of performance improvement, progress towards standardization efforts, and effective implementation of lean and quality processes
Leverage internal best practices and benchmark against external "best in class" practices; develop and deploy changes where appropriate.
Identify opportunities to increase standardization of processes both within the region, as well as across E&T's global locations through interfacing with regionally based piers, Signode strategic sourcing, and E&T global engineering
Continuously reviews and assesses the overall operational footprint to conduct overall assessments of existing manufacturing capabilities
Conduct "make vs buy" analysis for products; optimize existing capabilities as well as determine optimal capital investment opportunities
Identify opportunities for integrating processes across facilities, possible full site consolidations where sensible, as well as site expansions and/or greenfield opportunities
Conduct analysis and cost reviews for capital expense requests
Participate in acquisition integrations as needed; includes evaluating manufacturing location(s) and developing of integration plans
Constructively challenges the status quo to drive changes needed to implement and sustain process improvements; champions the development of a Lean culture.
Fosters an environment of teamwork; emphasizes the importance of safety, continuous improvement, operational excellence, and cost control
Collaborates with other functions across Signode (Transit Packaging CI, EHS, finance, etc.) as needed

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in management, business or engineering required; Masters preferred
Lean Enterprise certification and/or Six Sigma certification a plus
Minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in leading continuous improvement activities at a regional or global level required, preferably in a leading diversified industrial with a strong Lean culture.
Should include experience in operations management in an engineered products manufacturing environment
Extensive knowledge of operations management practices and methods, including operational excellence tools
Deep experience and knowledge of Lean principles (Kaizan, 5S, A3, value stream mapping, etc.)
Quality experience a strong plus
Proven project management and process improvement expertise; must have demonstrated success leading sustained, successful CI transformations with proven results, preferably in multiplant manufacturing environments.
Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills; demonstrated understanding of cost and productivity drivers and related financial implications
Able to develop and execute both strategic and tactical plans; comfortable being "hands-on" when necessary
Successful experience managing and developing talent and building teams to improve organizational capacity
Confident yet "down to earth;" unassuming
Sense of urgency; has a bias for action and able to make "tough calls" when required
Ability to travel domestically; some international travel may be required (30 - 50% expected)
