Job Description

Director of Operations

The Director of Operations is a critical upper-level leadership and management role, responsible for the overall productivity and efficiency of key areas of the Louisburg Cider Mill operating business. The Director of Operations will report to the CEO and will have ultimate responsibility for all Business Operations including Retail, Agritourism, Manufacturing, Farm Winery and Facilities. This includes leadership of all human resources operating in each area, direction and oversight of all operating methods, supervision of supply chain and inventory, management of the proper execution of the LCM Food Safety Program, oversight of facilities and capital projects, and financial information and budgets.


Detailed Responsibilities

  • Analyze communication and processes to identify opportunities for growth and improving sales and profitability
  • Lead and direct all activity related to inventory and supply chain, including demand planning, document management, and all related financial matters
  • Utilize the Facilities Manager and the Manufacturing Manager to develop a plan for utilizing AIB for pathway to SQF
  • Accountable for leading, managing and partnering with Retail, Manufacturing, Facilities, and Farm Winery Production Managers and Supervisors to direct daily activities
  • Ensure administrators and managers are effectively utilizing administrative tools and tasks to manage the operation and maintain awareness of administrative workload
  • Food Safety Program, AIB and SQF
  • Oversee the maintenance, preservation and housekeeping of the processing, bottling, and warehousing plant areas, as well as the outdoor production area, storage containers, maintenance buildings and all related equipment
  • Work alongside the Business and Manufacturing Manager to continue the development of the LCM Food Safety Program and its integration into every aspect of the Louisburg Cider Mill business
  • Execute property improvement plan developed in collaboration with CEO
  • Lead and develop managers to ensure the correct execution of operations and merchandising processes and guidelines
  • Lead by example to inspire, motivate, mentor, and educate the members of the Operations team while collectively building a strong culture to support the Mission of Louisburg Cider Mill
  • Responsible for budgets and fiscal responsibilities
  • Be present and engaged regularly in each area of business to observe and examine the execution of the operating plan, experience of the customer, and overall success of the managers and team members

Qualifications

  • Natural science or engineering degree preferred or equivalent experience
