Position Summary
Supports the Director in directing and overseeing an organization's manufacturing processes. Oversees equipment purchase, maintenance and layout. Monitors and evaluates workflow and assembly methods and makes recommendations for process improvements. Oversees staffing, scheduling and training for production. Ensures manufacturing performance and quality goals are met.
Responsibilities/Essential Duties/The Role/Key Accountabilities
- Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching and guidance to all operations employees
- Will work closely with executives to strategize and develop long-term plans that usher in new levels of productivity and success
- Remove production constraints; allocate human and equipment resources and direct production employees to attain all established goals
- Coordinate the hiring and training of manufacturing personnel
- They will work closely with the production team to increase productivity and profitability within the manufacturing operation
- Remove waste and constraints from the production process to improve efficiency and enhance productivity
- Review established production schedules to ensure established inventory levels are met while operating at the highest efficiency possible
- Set strategic goals for operational efficiency and increased productivity
- Encourage and promote operating in a continuous improvement environment
- Analyze current operational processes and performance, recommending solutions for improvement when necessary
- Maximize efficiency and productivity through extensive process analysis and interdepartmental and global collaboration
- Maintain and support a superior safety and housekeeping program, including all timely communication initiatives
- The Associate Director of Operations supports the Director and is responsible for general supervision of all phases of plant and facility operations including safety, production, quality control, receiving and shipping, hiring and training personnel, and facility/plant maintenance
- Work closely with quality personnel to review product consistency to determine trends and areas of improvement
- Monitor operation expenses and research ways to reduce costs while maintaining product quality
- Collaborate with Plant Management to establish inventory safety stock levels, reorder amounts and lead times for all raw materials and finished goods
- Analyze workforce requirements
- Maintain inventory levels and control flow of product
- Work with plant manager and office manager to develop and improve supplier relationships
- They will oversee manufacturing locations
- Collaborate with executive-level management in the development of performance goals and long-term operational plans
Qualifications
- Ability to streamline and implement new structures and roles that create speed, efficiency, and support rapidly shifting business demands
- Must possess knowledge of best practices in: Business and management, Finance and Accounting, Human Resources and Project Management
- Possession of at least a bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business Management or a related field is required
- 10+ years senior leadership role in the appropriate field
- Strong working knowledge of industry regulations and legislative guidelines
- Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes for maximum efficiency and productivity
- Must possess advanced knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management
- An ideal candidate will have proven senior management experience in a highly dynamic setting
- Organizational, communication and leadership skills are second to none and must enjoy developing solutions that push innovative boundaries
- Must be results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment
Salary range
- Base salary range $130-150K with additional bonus program
