Lily’s Toaster Grills is a high-growth frozen food company headquartered in Denver, Colorado. The Company manufactures and distributes frozen food products in grocery and club stores throughout the U.S. and has an impressive track record of rapid growth. In 2022, the Lily’s increased production and sales by over 300%. You can now find Lily’s products in almost 10,000 grocery store locations, including at 7 of the top 10 US food retailers – Walmart, Kroger, Albertsons/Safeway, Costco, Publix, HEB, and Meijer.

With ambitious expansion plans on the immediate horizon, this is a unique opportunity for a marketer with entrepreneurial DNA to join our team and lead the marketing function.

Director of Marketing - Position Summary:

We are looking for an experienced CPG product and brand builder. Reporting to the CEO, she or he will be responsible for developing and executing the product and marketing strategy to profitably drive Lily’s over the next growth horizon. This leader will be responsible for defining the product growth strategy, establishing product financial commitments, managing products and product lines from concept through their full lifecycle, developing and executing on marketing plans to support growth objectives, and working closely with internal team members (Sales, R&D, and Operations) and external partners to deliver award-winning products and grow market share. This position is an individual contributor role and requires expertise in all aspects of marketing, product management, and brand building.

Primary Responsibilities:

§Develop and execute the marketing strategy and plan to drive brand awareness and product trial/repeat with a focus on product positioning, packaging, pricing, shopper marketing, and advertising

§Develop and manage the marketing budget and product and product line P&Ls

§Partner with cross-functional leaders to identify, evaluate, and prioritize growth opportunities and develop go-to-market plans to deliver on growth and market share goals

§Lead strategic innovation by defining the overall product development roadmap, conducting market research, partnering with Product Development to execute on product innovation priorities, and leading the product commercialization process

§Partner with the internal Sales team to support go-to-market efforts including developing sell-in materials, coordinating promotional programs with other marketing activities, and building the programs to support new product launches

§Manage and optimize all consumer facing platforms and communications including brand website, brand pages on 3rd party platforms, and social media accounts

§Provide regular, timely, and actionable analysis of all available performance data for brand and competitor performance

§Engage and supervise external support agencies that provide advertising, promotion, packaging development, market research and other services (as required)

§Build and lead the internal marketing team over time

Qualifications and Experience:

§Bachelor's degree, required; MBA, preferred

§Minimum of 5 years’ experience in marketing with a micro and/or small-cap packaged food company

§Must have experience in marketing, brand building, and product management with a < $50M high-growth CPG company

§Expertise in developing, managing, and assessing marketing opportunities across the full spectrum of traditional and digital media channels

§Experience with identifying and executing on high-value shopper marketing programs

§Experience in developing creative briefs and managing creative development for all brand assets

§Experience with conducting ‘scrappy’ product, consumer, and/or market research studies

§Knowledge of syndicated data services including IRI and Nielsen

§Understanding of how to navigate FTC/FCC/FDA/USDA and other regulatory compliance as necessary

Skills:

§Excellent verbal and written communication skills

§Strong analytical skills

§Confidence in presenting and synthesizing complex information into easy-to-understand narratives

§Ability to see the ‘big picture’ and think strategically while also driving day-to-day execution

§Ability to "think outside of the box" to create novel solutions to business challenges
