Posting Title: Director of IT Operations
Reports To: Vice President of Information Technology
Location: San Jose, CA
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Vice President of Information Technology, this leadership role will drive technology operations performance and be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day execution of consistent and efficient delivery of IT services to the Company. The Director of IT Operations will implement and refine IT operations best practices, organize and lead IT response to business needs, and drive operations performance effectiveness to meet long-term strategy as well as near terms goals. The IT Operations organization includes responsibility for service support, infrastructure, asset management, system/cloud engineering and solution architecture. The Director of IT Operations works closely with business stakeholders, applications and development teams, vendors and third parties to support mission-critical IT operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage Operations performance using clear KPI metrics linked to business outcomes
- Maintain an enterprise architecture which enables company growth and provide sound architectural guidance, technical review and feedback, and solution design requirements for proposed solutions
- Utilize ITSM frameworks, principles, and processes to drive service level consistency and maturity
- Lead, coach, teach, and develop team members to deliver operations and security excellence and preparedness to scale
- Champion, develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure an effective and efficient IT operation and use of technology
- Oversee the maintenance and support of all IT systems, including hardware, software, and network infrastructure
- Ensure the integration of information security policies and practices into all IT systems, data, and information
- Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure the delivery of high-quality IT services
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of business functions and how to position technology to appropriately support business maturity, productivity, and scale
- Demonstrate strong IT financial and business acumen by helping to develop budgets, managing and reporting on technology spend, and applying technology life cycle thinking to drive and maintain cost efficient operations
- Provide technical and thought leadership to senior management teams to guide the development of priorities, roadmaps, technical options, and project solutions
- Work with IT leadership to evolve and support an industry-leading IT organization aligned to Company values and strategy
REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent communication skills with ability to build relationships
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, including a history of progressive roles and responsibilities in growing, fast-paced organizations and at least 5 years of experience managing and developing teams
- Demonstrated experience in the design and management of networks, systems, applications, cloud platforms and services (Azure/AWS), Microsoft 365, SaaS/PaaS
- Bachelor and/or Masters level education in information systems, technology, or computing-related field is strongly preferred
- Strong influencing and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated experience interfacing with leadership, business stakeholders, vendor and consultants in delivering business outcomes
- Effective at complex project management, organization, prioritization and execution of critical initiatives
- Broad technical and IT business skills suited to leading a complex IT operations environment, supported by relevant professional certifications and technical credentials
- Demonstrated experience thinking strategically about complex business problems, uncovering data-driven insights and creating actionable recommendations.
