Job Description

Job Summary

As a Business Development Director your primary responsibility is to drive the growth and expansion of the company's services in the targeted sector. This includes identifying new business opportunities, forging strategic partnerships, and driving revenue generation. You will conduct market research, lead contract negotiations, monitor performance indicators, and stay updated with industry trends to ensure the company's competitive positioning and sustainable growth.


Essential Functions/Accountabilities


Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy specifically tailored to the water and wastewater operations and maintenance industry.
  2. Identify and evaluate new market opportunities for expanding the company's services in water and wastewater operations and maintenance.
  3. Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify industry trends, customer needs, and competitor activities in the water and wastewater sector.
  4. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, municipalities, industrial clients, and regulatory bodies.
  5. Lead the negotiation and closure of contracts for water and wastewater operations and maintenance services, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the company.
  6. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and finance, to develop and implement effective business strategies.
  7. Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to business development efforts, such as revenue growth, market share, and customer satisfaction.
  8. Stay updated with the latest industry regulations, technological advancements, and environmental standards related to water and wastewater operations and maintenance.
  9. Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote the company's services and establish partnerships with potential clients and collaborators.
  10. Provide regular reports and presentations to senior management on business development activities, progress, and opportunities for improvement.



Job Qualifications


Qualifications:


  1. Proven experience in business development, sales, or a related field within the water and wastewater operations and maintenance industry.
  2. Strong understanding of the water and wastewater sector, including knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
  3. Excellent networking, communication, and negotiation skills to establish and maintain relationships with clients, government agencies, and industry stakeholders.
  4. Demonstrated ability to analyze market data, identify business opportunities, and develop effective strategies for growth.
  5. Proactive and results-oriented mindset with a track record of achieving targets and driving business growth in the water and wastewater industry.
  6. Strong leadership skills to effectively manage cross-functional teams and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  7. Bachelor's or master's degree in environmental engineering, civil engineering, business administration, or a related field is preferred.


Position will be remote in MO/AR with travel required.
