Tekton Research is seeking a Director of Business Development to join our team.
As part of Tekton Research’s Business Development team, the Director of Business Development manages assigned account relationships, and identifies new accounts and contacts aligned with Tekton’s business development strategy. The Director of Business Development works directly with their assigned manager to ensure all assigned client relationships are fully optimized, and to set goals for new client acquisition based on targeted therapeutic areas. The Director of Business Development captures all points of contact with new and assigned clients in Tekton’s Client Relationship Management (CRM) tool and meet/exceed Key Performance Indicators as assigned.
Account Management and Communications:
- Optimizes each client’s awareness of Tekton’s capabilities as they expand or change.
- Optimizes Salesforce Account, Opportunity, and Contact records aligned with Account Strategy.
- Builds and maintain strong, lasting relationships with Tekton’s clients.
- Manages client escalations with assigned clients, ensuring timely and successful resolutions for all Tekton accounts with excellent follow up.
- Serves as the internal, primary point of contact for reporting related Salesforce data for assigned clients.
- Establishes points of contact for all assigned Tekton accounts and serves as the primary point of contact for those accounts and their related opportunities through the entire study cycle.
New Client Acquisition and Messaging:
- Works with manager to set priority therapeutic areas and accounts for business development.
- Studies competitive landscape and shares information amongst the Business Development team and with leadership.
- Leads the optimization of all “Unmanaged” accounts which are targeted for growth.
- Utilizes internal, external, and contracted services to gain business intelligence related to any assigned or targeted client account, opportunity, or contact.
- Takes a lead in developing, optimizing, and delivering client-facing presentations including slides decks and use of marketing materials for presentation via phone, video, or F2F meetings.
- Identifies new accounts and contacts aligned with business development strategy.
- Attend Business Development and other company meetings as delegated, taking a lead in discussion about new client acquisition.
Client Relationship Management (CRM) and Tracking Client Data
- Takes a lead in establishing timelines, enrollment goals, and other study details and capturing real-time updates in Tekton’s CRM.
- Serves as primary backup to other teammates on the Business Development team and ensures that any recurring obligations with assigned clients are reasonably covered when taking PTO.
- Serves as the primary lead for management of all non-feasibility / non-submission requests; proposals, presentations, pre-award feasibility, database-level requests.
- Captures every client interaction in Tekton’s CRM for assigned accounts, opportunities, and contacts, in real-time or within any calendar week saving exceptions granted by Manager.
- Establishes and maintains goals related to each assigned or targeted client including but not limited to frequency of contact, execution of CDAs, and management of client-specific processes.
- Leads correspondence and follow-up related to client requests, including feasibility and submissions.
- Provides regular progress reports related to assigned client accounts to Manager and Tekton’s leadership as requested.
Departmental
- Ensures that all historic details, related to a specific client account, opportunity pipeline, or contact for an assigned account, are thoroughly communicated to Tekton’s Clinical Operations team in tandem with Tekton’s Feasibility team.
- Serves as an internal resource to the greater Tekton team on behalf of any assigned or targeted client account, opportunity, or contact.
- Attends assigned leadership and team meetings.
- Attends Pre-Study (Qualification) Visits or other site visits, with key contacts as assigned.
- Supports other needs/functions to the greater Business Development team as delegated.
Essential Qualifications
- Salesforce or related software experience
- Exceptional client engagement aptitude and ability
- 5 years’ experience in clinical research, business development, client relations preferred
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership role
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills
- Ambitious, persistent and passionate, yet patient
- College Degree Preferred
