Job Description

The Brand Strategy Director is the planning lead across the consumer, brand and business. You’ll oversee the strategy team in delivering research, insights, strategic leadership and creative partnership across your respective accounts, consumer profiles, and industry verticals.


What You'll Do:


Strategic Acumen

You are the planning subject matter expert in the eyes of internal counterparts and clients. This means that you develop brand strategies that ground the brand in spaces that provide a competitive advantage, you inspire innovative creative platforms, and you help bring ideas to life across consumer journeys and comprehensive multichannel comms plans.


Creative Storytelling

You understand how to synthesize and distill data, research, and cultural trends into inspiring and unexpected creative briefs. You understand the consumer, you live and breathe the brand, and you have a passion for making others feel as passionately as you – in a way that sparks endless ideas and opportunities.


Research & Insights

You actively identify, develop, and field research opportunities across qualitative and quantitative methodologies in order to gain consumer learnings and drive effective creative performance.


Passionate Leadership

You will lead an integrated, multi-disciplinary planning teams to deliver strategic rigor and excellence across every aspect of strategy. This includes the annual planning process, research and learning agendas, to ideation sessions, creative briefs and uncovering new and organic growth opportunities. You will inspire greatness across your teams and drive their personal growth through mentorship, goal setting, and career development.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s required, preferably in a social / human-oriented field or communication / marketing
  • Able to thrive in an entrepreneurial culture where creativity and data are both highly valued
  • Proven ability to think creatively; evidence of success in developing digital multichannel strategies for brands and delivering them to market
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in planning, strategic planning and related communications experience; advertising agency experience is a huge plus
  • Strong digital and analytical capabilities a must
  • Storytelling and persuasive presentation skills
  • Experience with multicultural marketing (primarily Hispanic or African-American) is a plus
  • Deep understanding of digital channels and knowledge of the various roles and contributions of other strategic disciplines such as CRM and social media
