Pyros strives to provide families affected by IS and other rare diseases treatment options that are accessible, safe, and effective. We endeavor to offer support services to assist with the navigation through the complexities of the treatment journey.


Role Summary


The Director, National Accounts & Health Policy reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, will manage optimal market access across all marketed Pyros products through creating and fulfilling high-impact initiatives to drive value message across Payers, PBM's, Specialty Pharmacy and other customer divisions. The incumbent will partner with Commercial and Sales to create and implement strategies to drive payer awareness of Pyros disease areas and brands, create insight driven payer promotional resources, and provide best-in-class training and plan-of-action (POA) support.


Responsibilities


  • Assist in the development of strategies and methods for pipeline assets that address unmet medical needs within rare diseases and niche patient populations.
  • Collaborate with agencies, Regulatory, and Medical Affairs to develop compliant and effective materials to support access and reimbursement for our products.
  • Manage accounts from pre-commercial through launch of Pyros products to obtain coverage across assigned accounts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Gather and record proof of coverage to be used to provide coverage metrics internally and externally.
  • Collaborate with Commercial and Sales to create portfolio-based resources for use by field facing teams.
  • Uphold a strong knowledge and ethical standard concerning healthcare laws and regulations with timely completion of all compliance training.
  • Collaborate with departments to develop physician payer advocates and optimize pull-through efforts when positive coverage is achieved.
  • Monitor the reimbursement landscape, agencies, products, reports, and policies to evaluate potential risk/opportunities for Pyros products.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with vendors to maximize working relationships.
  • Gather relevant portfolio-based insights from the field team and develop suitable, strong access marketing messages that drive brand initiatives and value.
  • Support the planning and execution of consumer strategy (e.g., training, account management tools/resources, ad hoc market research and analytics, and business planning needs).
  • Connect with national and key state payers to ensure products, clinical and value proposition are appropriately communicated.
  • Create and execute best-in-class payer-facing resources that support effective market access positioning, ensuring delivery that is timely and within budget.
  • Be a strategic partner and lead the development and execution of reimbursement strategies and advocacy plans, for both private and public payers, in collaboration with Commercial. Provide strategic counsel and support for negotiation strategies.
  • Utilize project management tools to record and track market access strategies/tactics and provide regular updates to the appropriate teams. Responsible for managing the team budget for assigned therapeutic area.


Skills & Requirements


  • Established relationships with payers.

  • Valid documents to meet domestic travel requirements.
  • Product launch experience.
  • Strong analytical (qualitative and quantitative), strategic thinking, creativity, and problem- solving skills.
  • Proven project and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong understanding of the US reimbursement landscape.
  • 50% Travel.


Qualifications


  • Start-up experience is preferred.
  • Epilepsy therapeutic area is preferred.
  • 10+ years of overall industry experience (i.e., market access / reimbursement, sales, sales management, marketing, training, or sales ops).
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree is preferred.


Physical Demands


  • Routinely in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
  • Routinely travel to field-based locations and meetings.
  • Occasionally mobile within home office environment.
  • Constantly operating a computer, printer, telephone, and other similar office machinery.
