Director of Policy and Regulatory Affairs | Renewable Energy Policy | $145-175k + Bonus

Location: The position is remote, but the company operates in NY, PA, NJ, CT, and MA so you must be easily accessible to those areas. Preference for in-state candidates.


Position Overview:

We are currently seeking an experienced policy and regulatory affairs professional to join our partner company's team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing our relationships and policy positions with regulatory agencies and legislative bodies at both the federal and state levels. Key responsibilities include establishing policy positions, monitoring clean energy programs, attending stakeholder processes, and representing our company at regulatory and industry forums.


Responsibilities:

  • Track and analyze policies at the federal, state, and regional levels that impact our business.
  • Manage consultants and budget related to policy priorities.
  • Collaborate with trade associations and industry coalitions.
  • Monitor incentive programs and RFP opportunities.
  • Coordinate policy priorities with our leadership team.
  • Develop regulatory positions and strategies to promote our priorities and overcome potential obstacles.


Qualifications:

  • Self-starter with the ability to thrive in dynamic environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Exceptional analytical skills in assessing policy impacts on energy development and pricing.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management skills.
  • Experience in the energy sector, preferably with a focus on renewable energy.
  • Willingness to contribute to various projects and tasks.
  • Passion for clean energy and a commitment to our mission.
  • Comfort working with diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • JD, MBA, MA in Policy, or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong ethical standards and integrity.
  • Collaborative mindset and the ability to develop creative solutions.
  • Strong understanding of the regulatory process at the state, regional (RTO/ISO), and federal levels.


Compensation: The salary for this position ranges from $145-175k.


Interview Plan: There will be 2 rounds of interviews after an initial screening call.
