Key Responsibilities
The Director – Hub Communications position leads all aspects of a hub communication team to improve local external and internal communications opportunities, contribute to company growth strategy and drive communications priorities in strategic markets.
Through close partnership with hub leadership teams and knowledge of corporate communications goals, this role ensures consistency and cohesiveness between hubs and corporate offices.
  • Innovation, Government Affairs and others
  • Devote dedicated attention to hub teams, broadly speaking, to better build points of connections and shared opportunities across local teams including Global Community Engagement, Sponsorships, Market and Community
  • Lead, coordinate and drive strategy and communications priorities across hub team and between hub team and corporate
  • Strengthen and expand relationships with reporters and industry influencers in hub markets
  • Proactively surface positive content for media opportunities (local and national), social media and employee communications channels
  • React quickly to emerging issues and conversations and proactively support addressing them as appropriate in coordination with key collaborators
  • Build on positive relationships with airport leadership, including focusing on local employee communications priorities

Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
  • Bachelor's degree (Communications or related field)
  • Experience leading a de-centralized team
  • Proactive communicator with strong presentation skills and executive presence
  • Significant media relations expertise
  • Creative and innovative approach to problem solving
  • Extraordinary attention to detail and ability to execute projects at a high caliber to completion
  • Ability to work effectively at all levels in an organization
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the position bullet points here
  • Strong people leader to develop a high functioning team
  • Strong organizational and excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure at high level and deal with sophisticated issues
  • Must function as a credible advisor to senior leaders
  • Self-starter with an appetite to improve legacy communications practices and vehicles
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Ability to engage in both production of communications materials and supervision of staff members handling projects
  • Ability to prioritize/plan and implement using good business judgment in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative approach with an ability to develop and lead fully integrated communications programs
  • Excellent writing and strategic planning skills
  • At least 7 years of experience in communications
  • 12+ years of related experience
  • At least 3 years leading a team
  • Solid understanding of employee relations (including labor) and drivers of employee engagement
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
