Job Overview
The Director, Quality will plan, develop, and direct quality assurance policies, programs, and initiatives; direct the process and product testing to ensure materials, parts, and products comply with established quality standards and government regulations. The Director of Quality develops, implements, and revises quality standards, tools, and methods. They evaluate the performance of the production process and the quality of resulting products to improve existing methods of operation. Additionally, the Director of Quality requires knowledge of the company, industry, and governmental regulations affecting product quality. This role provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility; mentors leads and guides Quality Teammates across the organization. This person must be capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments and is responsible for quality performance of all facets of product supply, distribution, and marketplace execution.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Implement long-term capital strategy for Quality Assurance, through partnerships with business leaders across the organization and industry experts for technological advancements and innovation
- Direct, lead, and motivate teammates within the organization to deliver results by communicating company goals and deadlines; engage and develop teammates through effective performance management, coaching, and training; implementing continuous improvement methods and embody company purpose and values to inspire servant leadership
- Serve as a leader on cross-functional teams in the organization, representing the Quality organization in the absence of the Sr Director of Quality. Partner with Sr Director of Quality to develop critical quality metrics and continual improvement goals for manufacturing business plans
- Work with the engineering department to support projects and line extensions to ensure quality and food safety processes are clearly outlined and approved
- Research and explore technological advancements in product testing equipment. Must be able to provide justification and return on investment for new technology implementation. Must be able to perform testing capability analysis reporting of new technology implementation for parent company authorization and approval
- Create, standardize, and implement the Consolidated Management System that ensures compliance to food safety, food quality, environmental, and safety regulations. Ensure quality systems and infrastructure to manufacture, distribute and sell products that meet customer requirements and consumer expectations
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of beverage quality standards, good manufacturing processes, customer service standards, auditing procedures, internal training practices, risk management/safety principles, and Food Safety programs (GFSI)
- Strong customer service skills due to the complex exposure the Company encounters
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills, strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Strong computer and presentation skills
- Occasionally walking manufacturing center/warehouse floor, some light lifting. Normal office environment
- Strong ability to work in a team environment, strong financial background, and the ability to create and manage a budget
- Highest ethical standards
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Quality Assurance environment, and/or Customer Service
Minimum Qualifications
- GFSI Certification, HACCP Certification, Preventive Controls Certification
- Knowledge acquired through 7 or more years of relative work experience
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science preferred but not required
