We are looking for a Sr. Manager of Corporate Communications who will be responsible for developing and establishing a multi-channel communications strategy for the flow of information to our internal and external stakeholders.
What's unique about this job (What you’ll do)
- Manage, monitor and report on the effectiveness of corporate communications efforts.
- Exercise judgment to prioritize media opportunities, and prepare talking points, speeches, presentations, and other supporting material as needed.
- Oversee the day-to-day activities of the internal and corporate communications function including planning, and staff development.
- Manage the publications, and public relations efforts, including Media Relations, Press Releases, media interviews, and other public speaking opportunities for high level Executives and corporate speakers.
- Manages internal communications, consulting with senior leadership and Departments (HR, Operations, Member Experience, Legal, ESR, etc.) to ensure promotion of PriceSmart activities.
- Develop the Communication strategy for PriceSmart Corporate Identity by translating the goals of the international business into communications strategies and programs.
- Manage the pitch ideation, asset development, and publishing processes. He/she will build the standards, processes, infrastructure, and team needed to scale an elite communications function driving value at a fast-growing organization from the ground up.
- Develop and enforce editorial calendar for all publications and solicit submissions.
- Evaluate which members of media, academics, analysts, partners, and more are important for PriceSmart and devise and execute creative strategies for building relationships with them.
- Identify challenges and emerging issues faced by the organization. Work with leadership team and staff to recognize internal and external communications opportunities and solutions, and define and execute appropriate strategies to support them.
- Manages crisis communications as needed.
- Integrate into all relevant areas of PriceSmart while collaborating with our leaders to build and implement external and internal communications.
- Assists the marketing department in creating an impact through storytelling across all of PriceSmart’s print, digital and social media platforms and channels.
Bring your passion and expertise (Who you are)
- Superior management skills; ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in planning, writing, editing, and production of newsletters, press releases, annual reports, marketing literature, and other publications.
- Self-reliant, good analytical person results oriented.
- Innovative thinker, with a history for translating strategic thinking into action plans and output.
- Ability to make decisions in a changing environment and anticipate future needs.
- Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and initiative-taking; a team leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical finance, and administration initiatives.
- Experience in building and coaching a team of communications specialists.
- BA/BS – Communications, Journalism, or related field
- Experience and leadership in managing a comprehensive strategic corporate communications and media relations to advance an organization's mission and goals.
- Excellent judgment and creative critical thinking skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a management role either in-house or with an agency, working with US and Latin American markets.
