Director, Consulting Operations

Role Overview

Working closely with Consulting leadership, Practice Management, Talent, Finance, Marketing and other professional services teams, the Consulting Operations colleague plays a critical role in driving and managing business operations and growth-focused efforts for the firm. This role will support priority practices across Chartis Consulting, with emphasis in Informatics and Technology and Consumer Access and Digital Transformation.

The position will touch a broad range of activities including practice operations, sales and pursuit management, business planning and execution, and other go-to-market efforts. Specific responsibilities are outlined below.


Responsibilities

Overall Consulting/Practice Management and Operations

  • Support Chartis Consulting and practice leadership to make progress against the strategic agenda and collaborate with firm resources to deliver results against strategic, operational, and financial goals
  • Ensure adherence to firm processes (legal, financial, project management, people)
  • Facilitate communication including practice and offering area meeting schedules, agenda development, and other connectivity points
  • Lead collaboration efforts with practice operations and key functional areas across the business to connect the dots between related endeavors and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Monitor the sales pipeline, coordinating with lead owners to ensure follow-through and identify support requirements

Active Pursuit Coordination and Proposal Development
  • Drive the proposal process for key RFPs and strategic opportunities
  • Manage orals process and deadlines, to ensure a well-prepared and differentiated presentation/team
  • Develop first-line proposal content based on standard offerings and working with practice area leadership for de novo pursuits
  • Maintain pulse on market competitors and firm differentiators, to inform pursuit strategy
  • Review proposals and pricing models to ensure quality
  • Coordinate and facilitate discussions by pursuit teams, providing project management support, and acting in a leadership capacity throughout the pursuit process

Business Development and Go-to-Market Efforts
  • Collaborate with leadership and Marketing to execute on overarching marketing and thought leadership plan
  • Synthesize, draft, edit, and finalize a range of other internal and external-facing firm communications materials in support of business development activities

Qualifications
and Desired Skills
  • Advanced capabilities in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Experience collaborating across functional teams
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; Ability to synthesize content and communicate in concise, informative written communication
  • Strong project management experience, comfortable managing and prioritizing under tight timelines
  • Passion for materially improving the delivery of healthcare in the world
  • Exceptional client service orientation - highly responsive and willing to go the extra mile
  • The role works remotely, however, must be able to travel occasionally to firm and practice area meetings
  • Ability to rapidly learn and synthesize new knowledge and insights
  • 8+ years of experience working in a professional services or consulting environment
  • A flexible self-starter; able to manage multiple projects and processes while remaining extremely detail oriented
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Advanced degree preferred (e.g. MBA, MPH, MHA, MPA)
  • Healthcare focus required

Salary range: $125,000 -$150,000, plus may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications, practice area, and other business and organizational needs.
