Role Overview

Working closely with the High Reliability Care (HRC) and Medical Staff Services Optimization (MSSO) Solutions teams, CCQS leadership, practice management, other solutions teams and marketing, the Consulting Operations Director plays a critical role in driving and managing growth-focused efforts. This role will touch a broad range of activities including support of the HRC and MSSO strategic agendas, offering development, thought leadership, and advancing project delivery/pursuits. The specific responsibilities are outlined below. This remote opportunity offers flexibility and may require up to 10% travel.

Responsibilities

Strategic Direction and Growth
  • In collaboration with practice leaders, anticipate emerging client needs and build (or acquire) new services to meet those needs
    • Organic growth planning and management
    • Accretive growth planning and support

  • Support senior level recruiting and hiring
  • Monitoring progress against plans; adjusting efforts as needed
  • Firm prioritization and translation to actionable plans
  • Support piloting and scaling high impact approaches and growth-oriented initiatives
  • Organic growth planning and management
  • Collaborate with HRC and MSSO practice leaders to set, manage and make progress against strategic agendas and priority initiatives
    • Annual and long-term planning
    • Firm prioritization and translation to actionable plans
    • Monitoring progress against plans; adjusting efforts as needed

Offering Development
  • Work with HRC and MSSO practice leaders and solutions teams to translate the business unit’s work, thinking, and capabilities into compelling service offerings
  • Serve as internal resource hub/curator of content related to HRC and MSSO offerings and experience
  • Coordinate internal education/awareness to support delivery/sales teams’ awareness of new offerings
  • Maintain and enhance established offerings, incorporating changing needs/market context
  • Synthesize, draft, edit, and finalize a range of other internal- and external-facing business unit’s communications and materials in support of offering development activities
  • Collaborate with practice leaders and BD leadership to integrated go to market efforts (offering development, thought leadership and pursuits)

Thought Leadership
  • Collaborate with HRC and MSSO leaders and marketing to develop and execute on overarching and practice specific thought leadership plans
    • Synthesize, draft, edit, and finalize a range of internal- and external-facing thought leadership communications and materials in support of strategic agendas and priority initiatives
  • Synthesize, draft, edit, and finalize a range of internal- and external-facing thought leadership communications and materials in support of strategic agendas and priority initiatives
  • Serve as internal resource hub/curator of content related to HRC and MSSO thought leadership
  • Coordinate internal education/awareness to support delivery/sales teams’ awareness of thought leadership progress


Advancing Project Delivery
/Pursuits

  • Work with HRC and MSSO practice leaders to advance project delivery.
    • Contribute to the management and refinement of processes to ensure client teams are effectively capturing and sharing knowledge
      • Support the definition and sharing of best practices, recommended approaches
      • Foster a tight feedback/development loop for continuous learning/improvement
    • Support senior colleague engagement, connectivity and contributions in support of project delivery and firm growth
    • Serve as liaison with other practice areas to ensure collaboration and coordination of work efforts across the firm
    • Support with active client delivery, as needed
  • Foster a tight feedback/development loop for continuous learning/improvement
  • Support the definition and sharing of best practices, recommended approaches
  • Support senior colleague engagement, connectivity and contributions in support of project delivery and firm growth
  • Contribute to the management and refinement of processes to ensure client teams are effectively capturing and sharing knowledge

  • Support the proposal process for key RFPs and strategic opportunities working closely with the HRC, MSSO and BD teams.
  • Coordinate discussions by pursuit teams, providing project management and content support throughout the pursuit process

Qualifications and Desired Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Advanced degree preferred (e.g. MBA, MPH, MHA, MPA)
  • Strong project management capabilities, collaboratively coordinating with firm and practice area and segment leadership, Marketing and Business Development teams
  • 8+ years of experience working in a professional services environment, 4+ years in a hospital/health system or consulting firm focused in healthcare
  • Advanced capabilities in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Ability to rapidly learn and synthesize new knowledge and insights
  • Managing and prioritizing under tight timelines
  • Passion for materially improving the delivery of healthcare in the world
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to synthesize the research content and knowledge and communicate back to practice area teams in concise, informative written communications
  • Exceptional client service orientation – highly responsive and willing to go the extra mile
  • Flexible and a self-starter; able to manage multiple projects and processes while remaining extremely detail oriented
