The Associate Director of Data and Reporting will report to the Director of Data and Security and support all business units within the company from sales, ops, finance, client, HR. This individual will work closely with the business leaders on understanding their business, technology, and data needs to help them use data to measure and drive critical business outcomes. This individual will be expected to architect, build, and maintain highly performant data models, data transformation processes in Azure and visualizations leveraging Microsoft PowerBI. This individual must have a deep data warehousing architecture and data visualization experience, to establish, drive, and deliver on data strategy and priorities.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Partner with Director of Data and Security and business leaders to understand data needs and provide highly accurate, reliable, and performant data solutions to drive critical business operations.
• Work closely with project/program management on project deliverables, timelines, and priorities.
• Recognize business requirements in the context of BI and create data models to transform raw data into relevant insights.
• Mentor or help other more junior members of the company in their PowerBI projects and provide code reviews.
• Construct and maintain a data warehouse.
• Make technological adjustments to current BI systems to improve their performance.
• Create charts and data documentation with explanations of algorithms, parameters, models, and relationships.
• Design, build, and maintain enterprise data models and data transformation pipelines in Azure.
• Provide training for end users and contribute toward the continuous improvement of our data capabilities.
• Analyze data and display it in reports to aid decision-making.
• Define key performance indicators (KPIs) with specific objectives and track them regularly.
• Collaborate and influence cross-functionally with larger data and technology teams to define and execute data strategy and deliverables.
• Establish subject matter expertise.
• Analyze current ETL procedures to define and create new systems.
• Using Power BI, create dashboards and interactive visual reports.

Required Skills:

• Data lake: Azure Data Lake Storage (or Blob).
• Expertise in performing data manipulation using Dataflows, Power Query and DAX calculations using Power BI.
• Excellent communication skills (written & verbal).
• Prior experience in data-related tasks.
• Development: SQL, Python, Git/Source Control, Agile methodology, and work management tools including DevOps and Asana.
• Strong skillset and understanding of data warehousing architecture and design patterns.
• Infrastructure - Cloud services: Microsoft.
• Data Governance - DG Services: Data dictionary, Data mapping, and Automated data profiling.
• Data engineering, data warehouse development, and ETL engineering expertise – must know how to ingest and transform data into scalable, efficient data architecture.
• Analytical thinking for converting data into relevant reports and graphics.
• Mastery in data analytics.
• Proficient in doing advanced-level computations on the data set.
• Highly skilled in SQL and database technology in Azure.
• Deep understanding of BI technologies, including security, portal settings, data connection settings, refresh frequencies, interaction with data sources, etc.
• Experience with Data Transform/Pipelines: SQL and Asure Data Factory.
• Background with BI tools and systems such as Power BI, Tableau, and SAP.
• NoSQL: Cosmos DB, Redis, MongoDB, DynamoDB and Cassandra.
• Process Management: Scheduling using Azure Data Factory.
• DG Platforms: Microsoft Purview and ADF.
• Knowledge of Power BI application security layer models.
• Data Storage - Relational Database Management System (RDBMS): SQL Server, Oracle and MySQL.
• Data Visualization: SSRS and PowerBI.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) – Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively with engineers, business stakeholders, and cross functional technology leaders.

Required Education/Experience:

• 5+ years of data engineering/data warehousing experience.
• 5+ years of data analytics and data visualization experience.
• 2+ years of team leadership/management experience.
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent technical discipline.
