Job Location: Works remotely (home office) from Covington, LA, or Clearwater, FL

Job Summary:

The Digital Learning & Development Specialist is responsible for POOLCORP's online learning and development programs. This position manages our Learning Management System (LMS) and develops online training for employees across the organization. From authoring engaging and relevant online courses to managing the support, design, development, delivery, and maintenance of learning content in the LMS, this key position collaborates with internal customers and builds or curates learning content that prepares POOLCORP employees to excel in their careers.

Responsibilities:

Online Instructional Design

  • Employs the latest trends and technologies in eLearning, including authoring software, and how that content can be deployed from the LMS.
  • Works with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), HR, and business leaders to identify and create curriculum that addresses learning needs.
  • Audits the current POOLCORP content and program offerings to help identify the most effective delivery methods from instructor led in-person or virtual classrooms, to asynchronous self-directed online programs and tracking mechanisms for all training types.
  • Uses instructional design principles to develop online content including developing learning objectives, sequencing topics, selection of exercises and assessments.
  • Leads the design and development of comprehensive training materials and instructional guides for the LMS and other topics as requested, that result in increased user knowledge and skills.
  • Designs and develops eLearning content that is engaging, interactive, and aligned with the learning objectives.

LMS Administration

  • Configures user permissions, roles, and course structure to administer and track online learning programs.
  • Functions as the LMS administrator responsible for scheduling training, configuring courses, uploading content, generating reports, designing learning paths and troubleshooting end user issues.
  • Maintains documentation related to LMS administration including processes, standard operating procedures, features, configurations, course structures, and security protocols.
  • Manages the LMS vendor relationships, working with external content providers to ensure automated course content feeds work correctly and maximize system functionality.
  • Other duties may be assigned at management's discretion.
  • Partners closely with IT to troubleshoot and solve technical issues; serve as point of escalation for user Interface issues, navigability challenges, and any other obstacles related to the system.
  • Owns the ongoing maintenance of POOLCORP's LMS and all supporting tools, content, connectors, roles, users, security, and internal system notifications.
  • Develops learning paths by role through existing content curation, working with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), HR, and business leaders to identify and build curriculum that addresses learning needs.
  • Acquires and maintains knowledge of current technology as it applies to LMS software and systems including gamification, leaderboard communications and other avenues to market and engage learning programs.
  • Designs assessments, exams, and evaluation tools to measure knowledge and progress accurately.
  • Creates and updates resources to train and support learners and managers using the LMS for online professional development.
  • Leads the reporting and analysis of all learning and development efforts and results, including learning program surveys and feedback.
  • Creates tracking and communication mechanisms through campaign assignments and reporting options to maintain completion records, quiz/test results and certifications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in: Human Resource Management, Instructional Design, Organization Development, or similar degree.
  • Capacity to collaborate and build rapport and relationships with employees at all levels, coordinating across departments and stakeholders and external vendor partners.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues, effectively managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including presentation and facilitation; ability to communicate complex concepts in plain language.
  • Experience building courses in the virtual environment and supporting in-person learning and hybrid training.
  • Experience with Workday, Outlook, Adobe, the Microsoft Office Suite, and Microsoft TEAMs preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and gain new technical skills quickly.
  • Experience with eLearning content authoring tools or similar platform experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years' experience with LMS administration and online learning content development.
  • Applicable coursework and/or certifications relating to instructional design and/or learning management system administration preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning methods, theories, concepts, and techniques.
  • Technical knowledge of eLearning systems and an LMS. Workday LMS experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel as business needs require. Current travel estimate is ~25%.
  • Solid understanding of learning technology, including LMS platforms and on-line training concepts, materials, and issues.
