Digital Copy Writer
Reporting to the Head of PR & Brand Marketing for North America, with a dotted line to the VP of eCommerce for North America, you’ll be responsible for writing descriptive, personality led copy for an array of digital communications. The ideal candidate will have a natural flair with words, a wide vocabulary and an impressive knowledge of fashion and retail. Above all, we’re looking for someone who shares our quirky sense of humor and attention to detail with the ability to translate these brand traits through a tone of voice that is relevant to a North America audience.
As digital copy writer, you’ll be responsible for delivering copy across womenswear and menswear with a large focus on product stories and delivering quality product narratives and copy to be used widely across our weekly CRM sends, online content pages and paid channels for North America.
Working closely with eCommerce, digital design, CRM, brand marketing and digital marketing, you’ll collaborate on delivering impactful copy that captures the quality of the product, collection narratives and brand personality. You’ll dive head-on into the gleaming details behind the collection to create compelling stories that sit across our North America digital channels.
This role has an in-office expectation of Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adapting the Ted Baker brand to the North America market, following design guidelines and supporting teams through campaign launches/changeovers.
- Taking ownership of design projects and collaborating with the wider teams in brand marketing and eCommerce to deliver engaging, dynamic and user-focused content pages, emails and marketing assets.
- Building creative and brand decks to showcase design proposals and project overviews
- Designing and improving templates for creative collateral across Ted’s online channels
- Designing creative assets to be featured across digital channels
- Designing digital assets for wholesale partners, retail events and press events
- Maintaining an excellent level of communication with the Head of PR & Marketing for North America and the VP of eCommerce for North America
- Large format print design and file set up for retail and wholesale projects
- Proofing and checking all artwork to ensure creative consistency across all assets and channels.
- Light retouching of eCommerce product shots
- Ensuring regular updates are managed with the eCommerce, CRM, Marketing (Brand and Performance) teams to specified deadlines.
TOOLS OF THE TRADE
Write eComm product descriptions, copy for product stories, weekly emails, editorial features, product guides and digital marketing.
- Review website copy to identify areas for improvement.
- Knowledge of how to work with Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong writing and editorial skills, including experience writing copy for a live web environment.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to self-manage and adapt to change.
- A great storyteller with a witty sense of humor and the ability to wear many copywriting hats to bring the brand personality to life in a digital environment.
- Must have a keen interest in fashion and a passion for Ted Baker’s product and brand.
- Good understanding of SEO best practices and how content can support SEO.
- Exceptional vocabulary and attention to detail.
- Creative thinker with a hard-working, proactive attitude that thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working to tight deadlines.
- On an ad-hoc basis, support Ted’s online trading, brand marketing and PR teams.
- Fluency in written French a plus but not required
- Proofread all online content before publishing
- An expert in balancing engaging copy and rich content with commercial goals.
- Implement Search Engine Optimization best practices in all copy created.
