Our Corporate Communications team brings our uniquely United story to life with the public, our customers and employees, across the world. Key Responsibilities
The Digital Designer requires implementation of design solutions applying direction and guidance provided by the Creative Leader and Art Director. Creative will appear on multiple digital channels including internal and external websites, mobile, and digital displays. This role requires expertise of design applications, a strong understanding of United brand guidelines and the ability to coordinate with project managers to complete multiple projects.
Project Responsibilities
  • Actively participate during brainstorm and strategy meetings with cross-functional teams
  • Produce creative and strategic design solutions across multiple channels including internal and external-facing websites, digital displays, social, and mobile
  • For large campaigns across multiple channels, the Designer – Digital role will brainstorm, coordinate, and strategize with Digital, Print and Photo teams to drive aligned through conception through completion
  • Attend meetings with clients to workshop, understand marketing initiatives, strategic positioning, and target audience
  • Coordinating with developers while performing visual QA; and providing solutions so project needs are delivered within appropriate deadlines
  • Will be involved in all aspects of creative production from generating ideas to portraying concepts
  • Will coordinate closely with the Creative Leader, Art Director and Project Managers to work within established timelines and budgets and strategize workflow
  • Assist with developing solutions for complex design challenges
  • Applying layout techniques, creating high fidelity prototypes, illustration of icons or infographics, and other related tasks
Compliance
  • Collaborates with CS team and Brand teams to ensure that results are consistent with the brand standards, design best practices, technical specifications, and established project requirements
  • Maintain a strong understanding of color usage and design hierarchy as it pertains to ADA compliance by coordinating with United’s Legal team, revise any designs with legal implications
  • Proactively maintain an expertise of United’s Brand Standards by partnering with the Brand Center and regularly meeting with the Brand team
  • To ensure needs of clients are always considered, collaborate with Brand team to identify issues and solutions as the brand evolves

  • Enhances Creative Service’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests
  • Understand United’s communication and creative goals, how our activities and processes (or others throughout the company) impact each other, and by staying up-to-date on trends and practices

Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
  • Strong knowledge of design applications, including Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, and InVision
  • Analytical thought process with high integrity
  • 2+ years working in a digital design role in a cross-functional environment to produce effective results
  • Strong ability to adapt to changing workload and prioritize requests
  • Creativity with strong knowledge of current design trends
  • Experience with new media tools in a large corporate environment
  • Promotes open communication within the department
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a creative environment
  • Highly effective in a fast-paced environment and works well under pressure
  • Trustworthy with material confidential information
  • Capacity to deliver against quality, timing and cost targets
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Ability to collaborate with all levels of employees and management as well as with outside agencies
  • An understanding of technology and how it impacts design
  • Excellent presentation skills
