DESCRIPTION/JOB SUMMARY
To design new product and improve existing products in accordance with Stealth’s procedures and protocols
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
- Design and analyze mechanical systems and assemblies
- Develop, release and revise mechanical drawings and 3D models
- Ensure designs are safe, effective, manufacturable, reliable, and meet quality system compliance
- Meet and fulfill project timelines
- Assist Manufacturing Support in the creation and design of specialized jigs and tools used to improve efficiency, safety, and quality in manufacturing practices
- Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed
- Perform inspections, verification and validation testing
- Use precision tools such as micrometers, calipers, and height gages
- Develop detailed design drawings and specification's for mechanical equipment, dies/tools and controls using computer assisted drafting (CAD) equipment
- Create and perform new product research and development to maintain competitive edge in the industry with innovative new concepts
- Assist manufacturing support in transfer of devices from design environment to manufacturing environment
- Assist with organization and cleaning of work area, keeping aisles and walkways clear at all times
- Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management
- Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment
- Work effectively with all Stealth departments to exceed internal and external expectations
- Stealth retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Must be a team player, detail-oriented, and honest
Must have the ability to:
- Multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment
- Use hand tools and standard power tools
- Read and comprehend work instructions
- Prepare and build prototypes
- Prepare and present summary reports
- Travel internationally at least twice a year for up to 2 weeks at a time
- Lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs
Must have:
- Relentless drive to achieve advancement and continuous improvement
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong mechanical inclination
- A willingness to learn and/or adapt to new work methods
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Strong working knowledge of 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks or Pro/Engineer
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- 6 months of experience in designing mechanical systems and assemblies
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Current or previous successful employment experience with Stealth Products (directly, independently or through a third party)
- Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment
REQUIRED EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or GED with at least 6 years of experience in an environment supporting manufacturing, technical processes and/or product design OR an Associate’s Degree in Engineering or other technical discipline
PREFERRED EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now, or in the future
