In the role of Design Engineer , you use CAD software and equipment to design new products based on implemented technologies. You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with customer Engineering to develop solutions tailored on customer's requirements and organize and coordinate the Development Team meetings, for design decisions. This position contributes to our vision by:
• Communicates with Customer Engineers to define the Product Design.
• Uses computer assisted design/drafting (CATIA, AutoCAD and/or Inventor) software and equipment to develop designs.
• Generates QTP, and QTR.
• Designs test jigs and test samples for new product qualification.
• Creates and revises production drawings (detail and assembly drawings).
• Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, materials, plating and other physical sciences to complete system design.

Job Requirements
Safran Electrical & Power looks for service-oriented team players with strong interpersonal skills, the right attitude and adaptability to an innovative and evolving environment.
• Bachelor degree (BS) in engineering from a four-year college or technical school, and 1 year minimum experience and/or training,
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, mechanical drawings and procedure manuals, standard processes and requirements.
• Ability to write routine reports, operating instructions and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Ability to speak read and write English (Spanish is a plus)
• Proven Project Management skills.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exits. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Proficient skill level preferable in CATIA and INVENTOR software. Skilled in PC usage and associated software including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint). Ability to learn new graphic software.
