Dental Services
Dental Services at the CSU Health Network provide affordable, convenient, quality care to students and their spouses and domestic partners. The Clinic provides a full range of dental services including preventive, diagnostic, restorative, and adjunctive treatment. Digital x-rays are available, as well as oral cancer screening and tooth whitening. The Dental Clinic is staffed by licensed dentists, registered dental hygienists, and certified dental assistants. Services are provided at reduced rates compared to community providers; patients may pay at time of service or utilize their university student account. The Dental Clinic provides services between the hours of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday-Thursday, providing attractive work schedules for staff.

Position Summary
The Dental Assistant (Dental Care II) performs a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties. Dental Assistants prepare patients for oral examination and assist other dental professionals in providing treatment to the teeth, mouth, and gums.
The Dental Assistant incorporates increased back-office duties, including training Student Dental Assistants, equipment maintenance, supply inventory maintenance, and managing patient referrals and lab cases.
The Dental Assistant is also the Safety and Infection Control Liaison for the dental clinic, ensuring all clinic staff abide by ordinances and mandates issued by the CSU Health Network, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Occupations Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). This position also ensures the dental clinic is operating according to standards set by AAAHC.
This position is scheduled 32 hours per week during the academic year (approximately 33 weeks) and 20 hours per week during scheduled CSU breaks (approximately 19 weeks). This position may voluntarily work additional hours to cover employees who are absent or on leave and during other clinic events, as requested by the Dentist – Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must demonstrate in the application materials:
