What you will be doing:


The Demand Planner is responsible for all forecasting activities associated with Sales and Products.


The Planner builds and maintains forecast and demand planning models for the region, channel, and customers incorporating business intelligence and forecast information captured from sales, marketing, operations, product and retailer replenishment, sell-through analysis, and other sources.


This key role will be responsible for providing the tools and expertise to bring all departments together to achieve accurate and effective planning and execution of production and inventory strategies.


  • Perform demand and supply analytics and provide consistent reporting and tracking.
  • Apply a collaborative and consensus approach by working with Sales, Marketing, Product, Supply, and Operations.
  • Document processes and procedures and educate staff.
  • Support Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning processes and team meetings.
  • Craft & develop regional, category, sub-category, and SKU-level unit demand plans side-by-side with key partners that advise decision-making and supply planning.
  • Maintain demand planning system and software, enter, and modify data and ensure the correctness of product hierarchy & functionality.
  • Update leadership regularly on relevant critical metrics related to inventory, forecasting, and planning.
  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical models, and evaluate results.
  • Support company goals and values, process improvements, contributing to morale and team building.
  • Bridge with Sales & partner with Operations Leadership to implement replenishment, never out-of-stock programs.
  • Provide results for the SIOP team and process improvements.
  • Work closely with Sales and Operations Leadership to build and implement inventory allocation to achieve/exceed service level targets.
  • Prepare, review, and evaluate forecast accuracy and provide feedback to collaborators to understand inventory impacts and future changes required.
  • Provide input to the Supply Planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
  • Work with the team to balance sales orders, supply orders, and on-hand inventory to build Available-to-Ship (ATS) reports.
  • Monthly delivery of Sales Forecast and Demand Plan within Demantra at set “snap” deadlines.
  • Monthly lags, over-under Sales forecast feedback scorecard
  • Systems implementations and process improvement.


Skills needed to be successful in this role:


  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Proven high level of autonomy and ability to self-start.


Minimum Qualifications:


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (advanced level in Excel; proficiency in Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Advanced presentation of data and refined reporting skills.
  • 2-5 years of previous experience with inventory planning, demand, and supply planning for a consumer goods company.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or University in a relevant field: Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Supply Chain analytics, and/or substitute additional years of planning experience for education.
  • Sales, Inventory, and Operations process experience.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Oracle and Demantra experience.
  • CPIM, CPM, APICS, or other Supply Chain accredited certifications.


In California, Colorado, and New York City, the standard base pay range for this role is $65,080.77 - $100,549.53 annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, and New York City and may not be applicable to other locations. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to location, experience, skill level, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
