Decision Scientist - People Analytics

• This role is primarily remote, which means you must be located within a drivable distance of our Best Buy corporate office in Richfield, MN., and you may be asked to come into the office up to a few times per month.

As a People Analytics Decision Scientist with Best Buy, you will provide analytic solutions and valuable insights to HR and the business about our employees. You will be expected to take ownership, develop a deep understanding of complex business problems, and devise effective solutions. The successful candidate has strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills and can effectively communicate and present findings to clients. What You’ll Do

• Conduct analyses of talent processes to assess equity, identify root causes, and offer evidence-based recommendations for improvements.
• Collaborate with HR COEs to create measurement plans, track progress, and evaluate program effectiveness.
• Synthesize data from multiple sources and use data storytelling to communicate insights for informed decision-making.
• Facilitate scoping sessions with clients, understand their needs, and convert problems into testable hypotheses. Analyze and present findings with recommendations.

Basic Qualifications

• 3 or more years of experience in business, analytics, or related area
• 2 or more years of analytics, reporting, and/or database experience (using tools, applications, and platforms such as SPSS, SQL, Python, or R)

Preferred Qualifications

• Retail or relevant industry experience that handles large datasets
• Bachelor’s degree or greater in a quantitative, business, or social sciences field
• 2 or more years of experience writing/scripting in SQL, Python, and/or R
