Database Administrator – Development And Testing

Savantage Solutions is seeking a Database Administrator to join our technical team. The ideal candidate will ensure development environments contain all the necessary developmental products, tools, servers, services, and databases required to conduct development activities for a government agency.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Test and apply required operating system security patchesand implement STIGs.
• Support sustainment of Cloud Native efficiencies, including CI/CD pipeline, Tomcat web server and Web Service data exchanges, TestingAutomation, Cloud Services, Resiliency processes, and any associated components.
• Analyze log files for troubleshooting.
• Maintain the health of all Production,Non-ProductionPatch, Development, and Staging server instances.
• Ensure development environment(s) support full capabilitiesto build, test, release, and deploy cloud software, Infrastructure as Code (IaC)and Configuration as Code (CaC)to a government managed test, staging, and pre-production environments.
• Monitor server performance for all environments andimplement approved improvements to achieve optimalperformance.
• Review and provideresponses to Fortify findings.
• Define and maintainsecurity controls over the data in all environments.
• Support migration of data exchanges to web services
• Test all software upgrades and STIG configurations, as wellas plan, test functionality, and implement any upgrades/patches to ensure noadverse system impact results from server changes tosustain and maintainsystem capabilities.
• Perform system administration,including basic server administration, operating system patches, implementationand sustainment of STIG’s, security assessments, server backup and recovery,system monitoring and performance, and support of custom DevSecOps,Interface, RPA, SQL, UNIX scripting and programming.
• Support additionaltesting environments, as required.
• Establish server backup and recovery operations.
• Support mitigation of issues with cloud services/tools,Oracle COTS applications, and TomCat.
• Ensure documentation is updated, including standardoperating procedures, maintenance and user manuals, system documentation,installation procedures, cybersecurity, and others as needed.
• Ensure DevSecOpspipelines are properly developed, administered, and executed through thedevelopment environments(s), as required.

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:

The candidate must have:

• 10+ years of related work experience
• A Public Trust
• Experience with Oracle Database (including PL/SQL), Oracle Enterprise Manager, TOAD, SQL Developer, Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN); experience with OID and OAM preferred

Education and Certification

• Oracle Certified Expert (OCE) in Oracle DatabaseAdministration or PL/SQL
• One CEcertification such as
  • Oracle Certified Associate (OCA),
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), or
• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), or
• MA/MS degree. Years of experience may be substituted for education on a one-for-one basis
• Oracle Certified Associate (OCA),
• One IAT Level II certification such as Security
