Data Scientist / Data Analyst (Security)

We are looking for Data Analyst/Data Scientist to support operationalizing Security Governance and Risk (SG&R) Division`s Data Analytics Programs. The ideal candidate for this position will analyze, interpret, and support data solutions that enable businesses to make effective use of data in business decisioning.

Responsibilities:

• Acta as a data analyst or as a data scientist to understand and solve customer (e.g., Analytics team, Data Scientists, ML Modelers, Business Users) data needs

• Perform the role of a Product Owner (includes Services) and deliver high quality solutions to customers

• Closely work with Data Architect(s) and Data Engineer(s) to assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional /non-functional business requirements.

• Leverage a variety of tools to prepare data, perform analysis, and provide value-adding insights to business (as applicable)

• Implement data quality checks to maintain data integrity and monitor for high data quality

• Perform research to better understand customer data needs as well as emerging industry trends and patterns that affect assigned domains

• Support business strategy and initiatives within the business unit and/or across the organization

• Assist and collaborate with various levels of staff to accomplish tasks/assignments

• Perform research and analysis; may include quantitative and/or qualitative analysis

• Maintain professionalism in all interactions, placing member service as priority

• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Must have a Master`s degree in Information Science, Data Analytics, Information Management, or Computer Science or 5+ years of experience in a directly related role with progressive growth

• Demonstrated experience with cleaning, managing, optimizing performance with, and processing large volumes of data

• For Data Scientist role,

o Proven experience as a data professional with hands-on experience in many data science and machine

learning projects

o Proficiency with Python in a data science and advanced analytics context. E.g., Pandas, PySpark, PyTorch

o Significant experience in handling unstructured datasets and converting them into Structured datasets

o Strong Understanding of machine-learning and statistical methods

o Ability to visualize data and provide insights from data

• Experience with one or more data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau

• Exposure to data/collaboration tools such as MS SharePoint, MS Power BI, MS Power Platform, Service Now, GRC

applications, and related Azure Cloud Technology/Products

• Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

• Effective research, analytical, and problem-solving skills

• Effective skill maintaining accuracy with attention to detail and meeting deadlines

• Ability to exercise initiative and good judgment to make sound decisions

• Provide exceptional Customer Service support

Preferred Qualifications:

• Background in a quantitative field, such as statistics, computer science, mathematics, or engineering

• Expertise in Python and data science libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, SciKit-learn, Pvlib

• Experience with multiple programming languages, including Python, R, MATLAB, or SAS

• Knowledge of various machine learning algorithms, statistics, and mathematics principles

• Ability to easily converse with Data Scientists, ML Modelers, and Data Engineers on various data analytical concepts and

statistical modeling technique (e.g., regression, logistic regression, log-linear regression, variable selection, etc.)

• Hands-on experience in developing Azure or related cloud-based analytical solutions

• Hands-on experience in modern Data Platforms related technologies such as Azure Synapse, Azure SQL Azure Databricks

and Power BI (including using DAX) is desirable

• Strong understanding of NoSQL implementation (Mongo, Cosmos DB or other similar tools) is desirable

• Knowledge of Dev-Ops processes (including CI/CD) and use of source control software such as Git or GitHub is essential

• Strong academic background or experiences in Security-related domain and/or banking Industry is desirable
