Position Overview

The Analytics Engineer role is responsible for working with the data scientists and the data lake team in the cleaning, development, validation, and documentation of data sets for data science/machine learning consumption and reporting. This position will be reporting the Manager of Analytics Center of Excellence.

Through its OmniPod Insulin Management System, Insulet seeks to expand the use of insulin pump therapy among people with insulin-dependent diabetes. Insulet's Delivery Systems business also partners with global pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to tailor the OmniPod technology platform for the delivery of subcutaneous drugs across multiple therapeutic areas.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and understanding of the various business intelligence tools used to visualize and report team analytics results to the company.
• Perform other duties as requested.
• Act as liaison between the data science (Analytics) team and the data lake engineering team in building curated views required for reporting.
• Interface with business stakeholders in cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and post-market surveillance to understand various applications and their data sets.
• Perform data quality checks and data clean up.
• Develop data preprocessing tools as needed and data sets for the data scientists’ consumption.
• Work with IT and cross functional teams to identify data sources, determine data collection and design aggregation mechanisms.

Education And Experience

• Master’s degree in mathematics, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a closely related STEM field; or a BS with 2-3 years’ experience working with data technologies, is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a closely related STEM field is required.

Skills/Competencies

• Demonstrated knowledge of building, maintaining, and scaling Business Intelligence Reports (TIBCO Spotfire, PowerBI, Tableau…)
• Experience with Databricks and Spark is a plus.
• Demonstrated knowledge of managing large data sets in the cloud (Azure SQL, Google BigQuery, etc) is preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge in SQL and relational databases is required.
• Demonstrated familiarity with different data types as inputs (e.g. CSV, XML, JSON, etc)
• Knowledge in non-relational databases (MongoDB) is a plus.
• Demonstrated coding abilities in Python or scripting languages.

NOTE: This position is eligible for 100% remote working arrangements (may work from home/virtually 100%; may also work hybrid on-site/virtual as desired).  

Additional Information

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $19.59 - $27.86. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
