The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
Under the direction of the Principal Investigators and the Director of the Clinical Trials Unit (CTU), the Data Coordinator performs duties associated with the data collection, organization, and analysis from research studies and projects conducted in the Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) Department of Ophthalmology, in adherence with assigned study protocols and manuals of operation and in accordance with clinical research principles.
Responsibilities

• Processing and compiling ophthalmic images and reports for presentations.
• Assisting with the collection and organization of clinical images from OCT and VF machines.
• Maintaining and organizing study-related documents and records.
• Participating in the development and implementation of statistical analysis plans.
• Organizing the regulatory binder for research studies as needed.
• Performing data quality checks and ensuring the integrity of quantitative and qualitative data.
• Perform other duties as required/assigned.
• Organizing, cleaning, and maintaining databases, reliant on extensive, reliable, and frequent testing.
• Assisting with the creation and review of manuals of procedure, training documents and other study materials for the studies.
• Obtaining and maintaining Columbia IRB Human Subjects Training certifications and ensuring that Good Clinical Practices are always followed.
• Ensuring accurate, confidential, and complete compilation of data.
• Entering, verifying, and approving REDCAP data entry.
• Exporting raw data and generating the reports ready to be used for presentation or future publications.
• Writing, editing, and submitting manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education, training and experience; plus two years of related experience.
• Conform to all applicable HIPAA, Human Subjects trainings, and safety requirements.
• Ability to undertake multiple tasks, set priorities, work independently and meet deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
• Excellent computer skills (MS Office Suite, REDCAP) required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science, biostatistics, or public health.
• Experience working in an ophthalmology setting.
