About You
You love data and shaping it to produce business insight. And you have deep experience with the types of data questions relevant to a software/gaming business (retention, engagement, monetization, cohort analysis etc.).
Moreover, you love what data tells you, and you are eager to get your hands on the treasure trove of Chess.com data to see what you can learn about the game, the players, and the business.
You’re looking to use your skills to work at a company that you actually care about (and that actually cares about you!). You are a seasoned analyst with intuitive strategic, communication and technical skills.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with analysts/data-scientists in building scalable, and reproducible analyses and datasets
- Contribute to comprehensive documentation of tools and datasets
- Dive into our data to discover insights on player behavior across different cohorts, segments, and stages of the user lifecycle, and communicate collect feedback on your findings from peers, and business/product partners
- Develop tools and best practices to ensure high data quality and identify and prevent errors before they reach production datasets
- Work with business, product, and engineering teams to [plan design ship evaluate] experiments, and communicate their results/impact with the company.
Preferred Skills
- Strong SQL skills (we use BigQuery and some MySQL)
- Experience working with data in a cloud environment e.g. Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure
- Some experience with a Python/Jupyter Notebook + Git setup
- Knowledge of, and experience in the online advertising and/or CRM domains
- 3+ years of experience in data analytics & data visualization
- Strong collaboration and communication skills working in a fully distributed team
- Puts value building strong relationships with colleagues and partners, enjoys mentoring and guiding others and you have the ability to explain complex topics in simple terms
About the Opportunity
- This role is open to applicants who can work in the North American (EST) or European timezones.
- This is a full-time position
- We are 100% remote (work from anywhere!)
