Schedule: Full Time Days
Shift: Generally between 7am-6pm depending on leader coverage for the day but could be needed any time during operational hours (5:30am-9pm)

The Apopka Campus is a 130-bed facility and growing with many opportunities to have impactful moments with our patients and creative options in our retail venues. We are looking for a Culinary Operations Manager who is engaging and eager to develop their team while ensuring excellence is delivered to our patients and customers. This is a full-time position, working primarily Monday through Friday, with weekend and holiday flexibility. This person will manage patient services, the retail café, the doctor’s lounge, and catering; leading a team of 3 Supervisors and 35 frontline team members.

- AdventHealth Apopka is a seven-story, 120-bed hospital offering an extensive range of services including expanded surgical services, advanced surgical suites and a catheterization lab
- The hospital also features a 30,000-square-foot emergency department with pediatric-friendly beds, imaging services, a full-service cafeteria, chapel, gift shop and on-site fire station
- The hospital opened in December 2017, replacing the 50-bed hospital that AdventHealth had operated in downtown Apopka for more than four decades
The role you’ll contribute: The Culinary Operations Manager is responsible for managing, planning, and coordinating all services related to patient care, cafeteria and food production, and catering. Accountable for department safety and sanitation and meeting budgetary goals through use of cost-effective behaviors and proper resource allocation. Remains visible in the work area and ensure deadlines are met. Works with the leadership team to establish expectations, plans and priorities. Educates and ensures compliance with policies and procedures, and department goals and objectives. Responsible for input into the employee selection process and the professional development of staff. Encourages effective communication and employee morale. Responsibilities also include generation of recipes, menu development, food production, and bakery. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

- Reviews menu offerings routinely and makes changes based on product availability, popularity of items, and profitable pricing.
- Routinely checks for quality, taste, appearance, and freshness.
- Responsible for overseeing menu and recipe development, recipe standardization, product selection, production, and service functions.
- Exhibits and teaches the standards and principles of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety.
- Aligns menus to comply with nutrition guidelines and health initiatives.
- Demonstrates, through behavior, AdventHealth Orlando’s service standards.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
- ServSafe Certification or Equivalent
- One (1) year experience in successfully supervising a staff of five or more
- Bachelor’s in business management or Four (4) years of management/supervisory experience
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, or related field
- Culinary degree.
- Certified Dietary Manager
- Food Handlers Certification
- Culinary certification.
