THE ORGANIZATION

Alta California Regional Center (ACRC) is a non-profit agency under contract to the State of California and for 50 years has provided the coordination of services to individuals with developmental disabilities. ACRC employs approximately 550 persons working out of eight offices in a ten-county area. ACRC is one of 21 Regional Centers in California.

THE POSITION AND JOB SUMMARY

ACRC is seeking a Housing Specialist to perform a variety of complex, highly responsible, and specialized functions associated with the administration of rental assistance, public housing, and affordable housing programs. This position is currently located in the Sacramento office. This position will monitor public housing opportunities and negotiate with developers and financial partners on securing affordable housing projects. The Housing Specialist will be responsible for assisting individuals and families in finding and maintaining safe, affordable, and suitable housing. The Housing Specialist will work with community members, social service agencies, and landlords to ensure that individuals and families are connected to appropriate housing resources and services. The Housing Specialist reports to the Director of Community Services.

COMPENSATION

The below is dependent upon experience and education.

  • Community Service Specialist II: $26.65 - $34.02/hr. (must possess a master's degree)
  • Community Service Specialist I: $23.19 - $29.60/hr.
Requirements:

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work or a related field; two years of experience in human services (preferably in the field of developmental disabilities); Interact and work well with the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and county and city stakeholders in funding and securing affordable housing projects; Provide education and resources to clients on tenant rights and responsibilities, fair housing laws, and other relevant housing topics; Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and landlords to ensure ongoing access to affordable and safe housing; Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all client interactions, housing searches, and other program activities; Collaborate with other team members and program leadership to develop and implement program policies and procedures; Attend trainings and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on housing policies, regulations, and best practices
