Job Description
Position Summary:
The Credit Analyst 4 provides analysis and interpretation of the customers’ and/or merchants’ financial status for proper evaluation of risk and the establishment of proper credit limits. They interact with sales support, customer service, and accounts receivable teams in reconciling accounts. Prepare recommendations and makes credit approval decisions on new accounts. Analyze and report on credit memo and write-off activity. Monitor and communicate credit concerns to management. This job is not for those responsible for placing routine calls to customers for collection of past due accounts; this role is focused on policy decisions/judgment regarding credit offers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Production Support & Maintenance Queues Processing: Admin will help coordinate queue workflow and process commercial WEX Bank Maintenance Queues. The Credit Analyst 4 will investigate and analyze credit information and use established guidelines and matrixes to make appropriate approval/decline decisions, as well as apply broad-based knowledge of principles and practices to complete difficult decisions.

These Maintenance Queues are specifically focused on our Fleet, Over The Road (OTR), T-Chek and Corporate Payments (CPS) functions. They will also focus on Maintenance Queues with credit lines over $150K with some smaller credit accounts that may require financial statement analysis. Recommend improvements to policy and procedures (process improvement). Utilize credit information to make credit decisions on cases in accordance with approved credit policy and established procedures, and make decisions on credit requests within their respective personal authority.
  • Resolve credit problems with internal/external customers.
  • Determine the credit worthiness of all accounts, and makes those decisions based on broad-based knowledge of practices and industry standards.
  • Assist with CA3 duties as needed.
  • Identify credit and operational risks representing potential exposure to the bank.
  • Workflow optimization and queue assignments.
  • Monitor and work urgent and escalated queues.
  • Review and understand complex financial statements to be used in the review process above $150K.
  • Fill in for Sr. Credit Manager when out of the office in regards to credit review and approval authority.
  • Temporary Line Increase tracking.

Loan Committee Admin: The Admin will coordinate and assist in most aspects of the WEX Bank weekly loan committee. Those items will include the following:
  • Minutes
  • Agenda preparation & Meeting Facilitator
  • Exception Tracker
  • Ratification Lists
  • Master Agenda Update
  • Quarterly Review Tracker
  • Watch List

Other Reports, Monitoring & Projects: The admin will also assist in some reporting and other projects related to the large credits team. Those will include the following:
  • Committee Slides (Production, AR Status, Exceptions, etc.)
  • Perform financial and industry analyses as well as evaluating economic trends.
  • Complete comprehensive risk analysis on bank portfolio.
  • Quality Assurance Reviews
  • CRM FRISK Report
  • Expiring Letters of Credit - review / validation
  • Recommend improvements to reports, risk management strategy, policy, and procedures.
  • Financial Statement Requests
  • Occasional new hire training and coaching of new hires.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • At least five years of experience and working knowledge of Commercial Credit underwriting practices and applicable Commercial banking laws / regulations.
  • Occasional travel for customer site visits or conferences.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce and Case Management.
  • Advanced knowledge and working experience with Financial Statements, analyzing and interpreting to make credit decisions within policy.
  • Advanced understanding of interpreting commercial credit reports & data and using that information to make complex credit decisions.
  • High School Diploma
  • Expertise with credit and accounts receivables computer programs. Strong knowledge with TSYS, Salesforce, Credit Manager, T-Chek, TAG, FPS, PeopleSoft and Siebel.
  • Working knowledge of interpreting commercial & consumer credit reports & data and using that information to make credit decisions.
  • Advanced skill working with credit scoring.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated use of credit and banking laws and regulations.
  • Ability to use non-standard or market data as inputs into credit analysis and recommendations
  • Demonstrated accuracy & completeness in preparing & processing complex reviews that clearly recommend the action to be taken while highlighting the basis for the recommendation or decision.
  • Advanced ability to assess risk on mid-sized to large public or private companies.
  • Working knowledge of credit scores both commercial and consumer.
  • Act as SME and POC for two or more credit tools. (CRM, Moody’s Products, DNBi, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of Collateralization / Securitization (deposits/letters of credit).
  • French Speaking.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Credit Business Associate (CBA) accreditation from NACM.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain high customer service standards & handle customer service issues.
Technical:
  • Intermediate computer skills including Google Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Windows.
Interpersonal:
  • Demonstrated ability to establish strong relationships with superiors, peers, customers, and vendors.
  • Strong knowledge of negotiation, problem resolution, and analytical skills.
  • Strong skill relative to Teamwork, Communication, Assertiveness, Adaptability, Initiative, Interpersonal, Leadership, & Judgment.

  • Accurately & consistently evaluates complex messages and responds appropriately to all issues and concerns in message.

  • This position has responsibility for portfolio management and credit decisioning through management of high-risk accounts, detecting fraud, and complex financial statement analysis.

Impact:
This position has a direct impact on overall portfolio performance. Success in this position has an indirect impact on corporate revenue and earnings. A direct impact on revenue and bad debt through appropriate adjudication and risk management decisions. Poor judgment can result in significant bad debt loss through application fraud and charge-off accounts that impact company objectives and revenue, and could jeopardize partner relationships.

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan.
