Credit Analyst Internship – Summer 2024
About This Position
The GreatAmerica internship program is a tool designed to recruit the best and brightest accounting/finance students from college campuses in order to build GreatAmerica bench strength in the Credit Function. Our internship program allows students to gain first hand exposure to what a career in credit analysis is like. Also, our internships often turn into full-time employment opportunities for students!
Do you want to be challenged every day? As a credit intern you will gain the practical experience of analyzing businesses across a variety of industries by evaluating their credit, economic conditions, and financial situation. You will have the exciting challenge of making actual decisions on extending credit.
Do you want to work in a fast paced environment? As a credit intern you will perform the same activities that a full time analyst does. This includes analyzing and making decisions on 10 – 15 credit applications each day. These applications can be for automotive repair, construction, healthcare, copier, data or communication equipment originated by our vendor partners across the U.S. Our best interns are eager to learn, self-starters, excel at thinking on their feet while making prudent credit decisions.

Education, Experience And Skills Required

• Demonstrated interpersonal skills are a must as GreatAmerica takes pride in providing an excellent customer experience during every interaction.
• Competencies for this position: Analytical skills, Communication Skills (Oral & Written), Honesty, Decision Making, Judgment, Problem Solving, Research Skills, Self-Confident, Working Under Pressure
• For our Credit Analyst Internship we are seeking students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business or a related field with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
• You must possess excellent analytical ability, enjoy making individual decisions and have the ability to process information quickly.
• Competencies for all GreatAmerica team members: Honesty/Integrity, Customer Oriented, Accountability, Tenacious, Communication Skills (Oral & Written), Adaptability
• Understanding of finance and financial statements is a plus.
