UC Merced Extension is looking for qualified professionals to develop pre-college offerings intended to be offered as high school dual enrollment or CTE courses in various disciplines or subjects. Offerings may include non-credit, pre-college credit, or academic credit-bearing courses.
UC Merced Extension currently offers dual enrollment/CTE pathways for high school students in Child Development and Care and Leadership. UC Merced Extension is looking to expand its offerings in partnership with UC Merced Academic Departments and regional industry experts and partners. Dual enrollment offerings are designed strategically to support high school students' preparation of college and career readiness within one pathway, where industry standards or expectations align with college-level coursework.

As a Course Developer, you will develop, in partnership with academic departments and/or regional industry experts, course outlines and course materials to be offered in a dual enrollment setting with high school or school district partners. Course outlines and course materials may include but not limited to course syllabi, program learning outcomes, course learning outcomes, assignments, exams or quizzes, online supplemental questionnaires, grading rubrics, and identification of supplemental course materials. A course developer may be hired to develop as minimum as one (1) course and as up to as many as four (4) courses in a pathway or sequence. Courses developed vary in review and approval process, in which the course developer will remain accessible throughout the duration of the review and approval process to support revisions proposal materials and topic area-related questions.

QUALIFICATIONS
As a Course Developer, you will bring:
- Demonstrated theoretical and practical knowledge in the designated topic area
- A master's degree in related field as designated topic area
Additional, but not required qualifications include:
- Experience teaching at the associate, undergraduate, or graduate level
- Understanding of effective pedagogy of face-to-face and online modalities
