Pacifico Power is looking to expand its technical team with the addition of a Project Developer Associate, This position will be responsible for completing or assisting with all aspects of solar energy project development, including: Securing land rights, interconnection rights, building permits, and property tax agreements; working closely with engineering, finance and commercial teams when a project moves successfully to the ‘pre construction’ phase; and acting as a project sponsor for the successful financing and construction of the project. Additionally, successful candidates will acquire and maintain current knowledge of emerging solar technologies & best practices, as well as relevant energy market and policy developments.
Please note this is not a software development role.
What you get to do:
- Interconnection management – progress projects through the Interconnection studies process, in partnership with the company’s Interconnection Manager
- Follow a project development plan to establish tasks, budgets and timelines
- Research and review building code and zoning requirements
- Coordination of third-party engineering partners and environmental consultants to obtain required studies and surveys in support of real estate title and permitting tasks
- Modeling project economics and financial parameters
- Attend bidder conferences, site walks, and client meetings
- Coordinate with other departments such as Business Development and Operations and Maintenance to ensure accuracy of bid and component pricing
- Work with municipalities and utilities to understand permitting and utility interconnection requirements
What you bring to the role:
- Proficient at reading plans, specs, and contracts
- 1-2 years of power project development, or project management that can serve as a proxy.
- Prior solar PV, utility, experience a plus
- Four-year degree in related field or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Responds well to pressure, ability to work under deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to identify and implement detailed solutions to complex technical problems
