Job Description

The Loss Prevention Manager is responsible for protecting company assets and reducing loss/shrink through the development, implementation and execution of Loss Prevention programs specific to the detection and prevention of theft and fraud. Primary contact responsible for all Loss Prevention activities at multi-state retail stores, distribution center, and Corporate Office.

Ben Bridge Jeweler is seeking a qualified Security and Loss Prevention Senior Manager to join our team. This position is required to be in the office in person 5 days per week. There may be the opportunity for some hybrid flexibility in the future when mutually agreed by your manager.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages overall Profit Protection related functions for multiple clients within regional area of responsibility, including multi-state network of brick and mortar locations and central distribution center.
    • Develops and implements Profit Protection programs which effectively reduce shrink, control cash loss, ensure a safe work environment, and protect all company assets.
    • Develops pro-active loss control programs that protect organization’s assets by reducing and preventing different types of losses.
    • Develops strategic partnerships to drive results that enhance company profitability.

  • Develops pro-active loss control programs that protect organization’s assets by reducing and preventing different types of losses.
  • Ensures that trained investigative standards are utilized, including investigation prep, interview, and LPMS documentation to provide high quality of case work.
  • Provides detailed case summaries after interview resolution to properly communicate investigation details to company decision makers.
  • Facilitates a meaningful internal/external investigation program for all stores, distribution center and office:
  • Utilizes company resources and field partnerships to identify and resolve theft/fraud cases.
  • Provides recommendations & support to company management to prevent future loss occurrences.
  • Work directly with insurance underwriter, insurance broker and insurance adjuster for all company related losses/claims. Coordinate and submit information relative to the loss (i.e. police report numbers, cost documentation, shipping documentation) and assure timely reimbursement of funds. Maintain a high level of knowledge and understanding of the Jewelers Block Policy to assure company compliance for all operational related issues.
  • Maintain and operate the Best Lock Control System for all retail stores, distribution center and corporate office. Order new locks and hardware for all new stores and re-model projects. Re-key and code locks as needed. Update code files and information as needed.
  • Facilitates a meaningful audit and training program for all associates.
  • Responds to all business interruptions and external events within a timely manner and effectively communicates with business partners.
  • Works closely with Inventory Control team in their completion of all store and vault audits.
  • Directly responsible for locating the cameras for the optimal views and security needs.
  • Directly involved in selecting, developing, and managing a contract guard service to provide daily onsite guard service at selected retail stores. Approve work schedule and compensation program. Interact with guard service national account representative(s) on a regular basis to assure quality compliance.
  • Interact with the Director of Facilities and Construction and Facilities Manager to assure adherence to physical security standards for retail stores, distribution center and corporate office (i.e. alarm systems, CCTV systems, EAS systems, safe/vaults and showcases).
  • Primary contact responsible for coordinating and scheduling armored courier and off-duty police services for special promotions and events. Work directly with the Marketing Director and area VP’s to develop and approve promotion/event calendar. Maintain daily communication with armored courier and store manager regarding promotion/event scheduling.
  • Provides meaningful training to stores, distribution center and office associates for proper procedures to be followed in the event of an active robbery, active shooter, or other hostile activity in the vicinity of the location in order to maintain the safety of our associates and customers.
  • Responsible for scheduling the security alarm vendor and the camera companies to schedule their installation to assure that the overall project timelines are met and do not delay the installation dates.
  • Provides meaningful training at least annually to all stores for proper procedures to be followed in showing high-value merchandise to prevent theft.
  • Directly involved in camera and security requirements in the stores and the corporate office.
  • Responsible for getting competitive security and camera costs from security vendors for remodels, new construction and other security needs.
  • Work with alarm vendors on placement of all alarm devices and alarm requirements.
  • Performs special projects as assigned.
  • May consult on fraud matters for omni-channel systems and processes across different retail channels and associated functions that can cause shrink and loss; including, but not limited to: e-commerce, POS systems, inventory management, and cash/credit management.
  • Liaises with local, state and federal law enforcement authorities and court officials on all matters pertaining to associate safety, security and asset protection.
  • Develops and maintains Company policy and procedures relative to loss prevention and safety.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent education and experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of loss prevention experience preferably in a retail environment

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Able to use strategic thought process to minimize risk exposure to emerging threats and trends.
  • Position is based in our corporate office in Downtown Seattle.
  • Possess knowledge of financial operations and processes; utilizes problem solving skills to diagnose root cause of deficiencies.
  • Maintains a strong knowledge of local, state, and federal legal requirements and procedures pertaining to criminal activity.
  • Analyzes information, identifies root causes, and develops/implements approved solutions in high stress situations.
  • Is a detail-oriented individual with excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Collaboration, innovation, M&A/integration, organic growth, people first.
  • Willing to travel across the multi-state area 20% of the time.
  • Able to develop and/or interpret complex regulatory requirements and has the ability to communicate technical and complex concepts.

Range: $96,000 - $120,000

Fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges. Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience levels, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
