Core Developer (Golang, C++, or Python) - New York (Hybrid) - $300k base + Cash Bonus + Equity

A specialist client focused on building high-frequency trading systems and execution platforms for centralized and decentralized digital asset markets. They have made themselves a class-leading player in the trading infrastructure space, describing it as the equivalent of buying real estate closer to exchange data centres to get the best prices in the market.

Their lead investor is ready to send $10bn (monthly) order flow through the platform from the moment they launch.

What's important to them? They want to hire "A players across the board" with the mentality of "all hands on deck".

Most of the Infrastructure / Data Part is already built, so the hires they make will add value by creating a usable product for other funds, to make it easy to use and attractive.

Seeking a skilled and passionate Backend Engineer to join their team and contribute to the development of core services. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining a traditional distributed backend architecture that powers their trading systems. You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of technologies, including Golang, C++, and Python, to deliver scalable and reliable solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain a distributed backend architecture to support trading systems.
• Build and optimize high-performance backend services using Golang, C++, and Python.
• Work with databases and data stores to ensure efficient and reliable data management.
• Implement monitoring and logging solutions to ensure system reliability and visibility.
• Implement and improve APIs for data retrieval, processing, and storage.
• Collaborate with front-end engineers and other stakeholders to design and integrate seamless end-to-end solutions.

Requirements:

• Understanding of networking and protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, gRPC).
• Familiar with Golang, C++, and Python, with strong skills in at least one.
• Proficiency in database technologies such as SQL and NoSQL.
• Familiarity with message queues, pub/sub systems, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems concepts and principles.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of security and compliance standards in backend development.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with microservices architectures.
• Prior experience with high-throughput, low-latency systems.
• Experience with financial systems or trading platforms.
