Job Description
About Carrot:

Carrot Fertility is the leading global fertility care platform for women, who are often at the center of fertility care decisions and consequences. Plus, Carrot serves people of every age, race, income, sex, sexual orientation, gender, marital status, and geography. Trusted by hundreds of multinational employers, health plans, and health systems, Carrot's comprehensive clinical program delivers industry-leading cost savings for employers and award-winning experiences for millions of people worldwide. Whether there is a need for care through fertility preservation, male-factor infertility, pre-pregnancy, IVF, pregnancy and postpartum, adoption, gestational surrogacy, or menopause, Carrot supports members and their families through many of the most memorable and meaningful moments of their lives.

The Role:

Carrot is seeking a Contract Manager to manage the process for Carrot's commercial contracts, including master service agreements, amendments, renewals, service level agreements and more. You will help the lawyers manage the non-legal issues arising from documents, compile documents from forms, improve upon forms, playbooks and processes and be a contracts resource to cross-functional partners. This role is an opportunity to be Carrot's first in-house commercial contracts manager with this area of expertise and to join a dynamic and quickly scaling legal team. The right professional for this position thrives on working with multiple teams at once, coordinating and managing many documents, while remaining focused on Carrot's priorities .

The Team:

The Contract Manager reports to Carrot's Commercial Counsel and sits within a pod of other legal professionals, including other contracts managers, attorneys and legal ops professionals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • You understand that we have an existing CLM and are willing to learn and integrate with our existing processes to perform your job
  • Business knowledge: You know, generally, how business works, what are standard clauses in a commercial contract, how they work and for what purposes.
  • Love for improvement: Small companies have lots of room for improvement. You should have a love for process, improvement and playbooking because you will need to better automate your processes or streamline your methods to grow (for yourself and with the company)
  • Collaboration skills: We have different personality types and you will likely work with some or most of them, both externally and internally, to create and revise contracts ,forms and playbooks since commercial contracting covers many different business functions.
  • Negotiation skills: You can negotiate internally within the business, and assist with negotiations externally with a counterparty to make reasonable changes.
  • Communication skills: Collaboration in writing and/or verbal via Email, Slack, MS Word comments, Google Docs comments, Zoom, Teams, occasional in person and other means of modern day communication.
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Attention to detail: An eye for detail to the point where you can see two spaces instead of one. You are responsible to ensure that the contract has the right number of digits from the contact phone number to the contract value.
  • You masterfully use Microsoft Word (meaning you can draft, format, follow and utilize track changes, edit a TOC, tables, signature blocks, basic macro coding, and update Styles, as well as run redlines)
  • Understanding of risk management/compliance: You need to know how to determine risk and oversee contracts so that they conform with regulations and obligations as required, and escalate to the right lawyer for concern issues that are beyond "by the book".

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to successfully handle multiple concurrent tasks/assignments simultaneously: attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy
  • Proficient with MS Office and GSuite
  • Experience working at a law firm or in-house legal team
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills - including reasonable and customary business etiquette
  • Familiarity with Ironclad, a contract management software tool
  • Use Slack as conversational tool

Compensation:

Carrot offers a holistic Total Rewards package designed to support our employees in all aspects of their life inside and outside of work, including health and wellness benefits, retirement savings plans, short- and long-term incentives, parental leave, family-forming assistance, and a competitive compensation package. The starting base salary for this position will range from $71,000.00 - $94,000.00. Actual compensation may vary from posted base salary depending on your confirmed job-related skills and experience.
