JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Construction Inspector, you will work on transportation infrastructure and facility related construction projects. This is an immediate opportunity to work at the Atlantic City International Airport, New Jersey for projects currently in progress. Other project assignments may include locations from Ocean County to Cape May County or other locations in southern NJ. It is preferable that the applicant lives within the vicinity of these noted areas. NICET II Highway Construction Inspection certification required, level III desired.
Responsibilities :

- Primary responsibility will be to conduct field inspection and documentation of construction operations. This will require knowledge of construction practices, familiarity with the construction documents and ability to perform inspections of various construction operations.
- Transfer of information from daily inspection reports to red-line as-built drawings is also part of regular responsibilities. In this role you will serve as direct assistant to the Resident Engineer in managing project records through closeout.
- A portion of time will be spent at the construction site or field office managing incoming and outgoing correspondence, reviewing plans and specifications for the construction operations being performed, reporting field site results and on-going information to construction managers and/or using computer software to prepare record documents.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- SJTA, NJDOT, NJTA, or other major transportation agency project experience performing inspection of highway construction and/or structural components (bridges, retaining walls, sign structures), including earthwork, concrete and/or asphalt paving construction, drainage, water quality basins and utility construction.
- Excellent English language skills, written and verbal.
- OSHA 10 hr certification or ability to obtain.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel) etc.
- Valid certifications in ACI Field Concrete Testing, NJ Society of Asphalt Technician certification (NJSAT) or NECEPT), Rutgers TCP. ACI CCTC certification desirable
- NICET II Highway Construction Inspection certification required, level III desired.
- Associate's degree in a construction or engineering related field desired and 3 - 8 years of related construction inspection experience. Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering may substitute 2 - 3 years of experience noted above but must include at least 2 years of field experience.
- Knowledge of FAA reporting requirements is desirable.
COMPENSATION
The salary range for this position is $40 - $45 per hour. This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
