Peet’s is looking for a stellar Community Manager to join our team in the SF Bay Area. This person would be responsible for building and celebrating the Peet’s community both online and offline. You will be a key ambassador for the brand—the consistent face and voice to our online communities across social media platforms. This person will ensure ongoing community engagement and growth. In the offline world, you will work with senior staff to plan events at Peet’s locations, from concept through completion. The successful candidate must be passionate about social and community building, and able to enlist cross-functional teams in “always on” marketing.
What You Will Do
  • Plan, curate and create content to sustain community growth and fan engagement
  • On the event side, coordinate with internal staff and vendors to establish the requirements for events, and serve as point person throughout the planning process
  • Actively monitor social channels and respond to comments and customer queries in a timely manner: raise awareness to channel partners of feedback and online reviews
  • Lead a daily “always on” standup, with teams involved in real time marketing
  • Activate super-fan and surprise-and-delight strategies
  • Plan and facilitate logistics including influencer and media coordination, coffeebar readiness, equipment rentals, security, and social and other promotion; manage on-site preparations, production, and event breakdown ; troubleshoot any “day-of” issues
  • Coordinate with Marketing, PR and Communications teams to ensure brand consistency
  • Manage daily social interactions to align with marketing strategies; deliver clever, engaging copy and coordinate “day of” assets; manage the social planning calendar and publishing across channels
  • Explore, identify and stay on the pulse of new social developments and opportunities/channels/innovations/competitors in order to proactively direct current and future opportunities
  • Engage audiences on a variety of platforms including social media, online forums, in-person groups, and more to reach all audiences where they are. Since different digital spaces have unique cultures and best practices, our community manager must be the consistent tone and voice of the brand
Who You Are
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, including multitasking, time management, and attention to detail
  • Flexibility for domestic or international travel
  • Experience in building and maintaining positive business relationships
  • Ability to handle pressure and make good decisions quickly
  • Excellent writing skills, with a command of the language of social as well as formal composition
  • Experience in marketing or public relations, preferably in CPG social media
  • Ability to see a story in data; and to recommend adjustments in strategy
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends, when needed
  • Business understanding
Peet’s Coffee Home Office is a fully vaccinated worksite. We require any new hire who will work from our Home Office to verify that they are fully-vaccinated against COVID-19 before beginning employment with Peet’s, consistent with applicable law. Additional information will be provided upon acceptance of offer. Peet’s Home Office is a Hybrid worksite, which requires any Home Office employees to work onsite 3 days a week with the exception of any fully-remote role.

The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job.
