The Communications Coordinator will be a key member of the Communications Department, responsible for researching and assessing the current media landscape, connecting and creating relationships with journalists and thought leaders, and supporting the team in the drafting of internal and external communications. We are in search of a well-rounded specialist with a background in public relations and a strong understanding of the vital role communications plays in the growth and sustainability of a company.

Our mission as the Communications Department is to operate as the voice of Sweetgreen and provide support, direction and thoughtful feedback to our leadership and team members. As the Communications Coordinator, your role will be to develop and execute strategy to meet the needs of our rapidly growing business.

You Will

• Draft and create press materials around campaigns that raise brand awareness with new customers & remain top of mind with existing customers and stakeholders
• Implement strategies that support our public relations goals to tell meaningful brand stories, assist in executive positioning, maintain our public image, and drive forward marketing initiatives.
• Schedule thought leadership opportunities for executives and assist with briefing, pre-interviews, and coordination of events, podcasts, conferences, summits, etc.
• Maintain and update master list of contacts with key journalists and industry leaders to strengthen and foster the brand’s media relations.
• Write pitches that exemplify meaningful storytelling around our products, partnerships and experiences that elevate the brand & drive business results
• Research and track industry trends and news to help shape the strategy and support our mission as a disrupting brand
• Support internal communications including company updates, memos, and statements, handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion.

Desired Experience

• Pulse on media relations, with experience connecting to journalists and drafting materials around brand goals.
• 2-3 years of experience in a PR or communications role working either in-house or at an agency
• Experience working closely with leadership and owning projects start to finish, always looking for measurable results that prove success
• Exceptional communication skills written and verbal to assist with both internal and external messaging

Salary Range For This Role

Starting salary range based on experience

$80,000—$90,000 USD
