Job Description

Position Summary

Coordinate all media contacts and social media for the organization to create momentum for and awareness of OHHF events, programs, and activities, including creating press releases, developing social media content, and utilizing free media outlets.


Responsibilities

General Communications

  • Identify opportunities to share out OHHF achievements, programs, and activities.
  • Coordinate all media contacts to create momentum for and awareness of OHHF programs and activities, including creating press releases and utilizing free media outlets.
  • Create copy for OHHF collateral, marketing materials, stakeholder reports, email communication, and social media.
  • Collect photos and/or videos taken at OHHF events and maintain photo files for ongoing use; create, edit, and upload photos and videos to social media outlets.
  • Organize and support philanthropy correspondence plans.
  • Develop and monitor procedures to ensure all printed and digital materials remain on-brand.
  • Assist with producing all donor communications materials – print and electronic collateral and mailings.
  • Support proofreading OHHF materials to ensure clarity, accuracy, and quality.
  • Work alongside the OHHF web designer to provide ongoing content management of OHHF website and assist staff in troubleshooting website issues.
  • Support donor stewardship and cultivation strategies, including coordinating all gift acknowledgments and conducting donor prospect research.
  • Track online analytics and support internal reporting needs.
  • Lead the generation of online content that ensures OHHF’s online presence is dynamic, relevant, and mission-driven.
  • Support implementation and evaluation of annual philanthropy communications plans.
  • Create and coordinate content for email campaigns to promote awareness about and participation in OHHF events, programs, and activities.


Social Media Management

  • Increase brand awareness for key initiatives and events, including design, implementation, and oversight.
  • Manage social ad campaigns and other promotions; track and share results for continuous improvement to targeting and segments.
  • Manage all aspects of OHHF’s social media presence (OHHF website, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, etc.).
  • Develop and execute social media content campaigns for key days, themes, and upcoming priority content.
  • Own and execute social media strategy across channels as the primary drivers of OHHF messages, appeals, and website traffic—and critical platforms for building brand and issue awareness.
  • Drive strategy to increase daily engagement on OHHF social media accounts
  • Led digital execution of fundraising and engagement campaigns throughout the year—across email, website, and social media.
  • Contribute to overall digital content strategy and inform calendar of upcoming topics, news, milestones, and external opportunities to guide content planning.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent prior experience
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Meticulous attention to detail and excellent time/task management skills
  • Experience with online marketing tools, social media platforms, and publishing software
  • Ability to work effectively and independently but also as a member of a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an outgoing and open personal style
  • At least two-three years of experience in nonprofit communications, implementing strategies, and developing online content
  • Demonstrated success working developing effective working relationships with staff, board members, and vendors
  • Demonstrated interest in OHHF’s mission
  • Ability to respond adeptly to rapidly changing priorities and successfully manage multiple initiatives at once


Preferred Qualifications

  • Design expertise
  • Editorial or other writing experience
  • Understanding of nonprofit management, infrastructure, and capacity building
  • Experience working with high-profile individuals and/or Boards of Directors
