Job Title: Communications and Social Media Marketing Associate
Organization: Advancing Students Forward
Duration: As soon as a qualified candidate is selected with the potential for becoming a long term position.
Part-time: 10-15 hours per week
Compensation: $17-$19 per hour commensurate with experience.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and creative individual to join our small nonprofit organization as a Communications and Social Media Marketing Associate. This role will play a crucial part in raising awareness of our organization's mission, increasing engagement with our target audience, and driving support for our programs and initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a deep understanding of social media platforms, and a passion for making a positive impact through nonprofit work.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective communication strategies to promote our nonprofit's mission, programs, and initiatives.
- Create engaging and compelling content for various communication channels, including website, blog, newsletters, social media platforms, and email marketing campaigns.
- Manage and maintain our organization's social media presence, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and other relevant platforms.
- Monitor social media trends, identify new opportunities, and suggest creative strategies to enhance brand visibility and engagement.
- Coordinate and collaborate with team members to gather content, stories, and updates for marketing materials and campaigns.
- Conduct market research and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of communication and social media marketing efforts.
- Implement SEO strategies to optimize our website and improve organic search rankings.
- Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and inquiries received through social media platforms in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist in organizing and promoting virtual and in-person events, fundraisers, and community outreach activities.
- Collaborate with graphic designers, photographers, and videographers to develop visually appealing and impactful multimedia content.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in communications and social media marketing.
Qualifications:
- Working towards or have completed a Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
- Proven experience in social media management and content creation, preferably in a nonprofit or cause-driven organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft engaging and persuasive content.
- Proficiency in using social media management tools, analytics platforms, and content scheduling platforms.
- Strong knowledge of popular social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Familiarity with SEO principles and practices to optimize website content.
- Creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box and propose innovative ideas.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality work within deadlines.
- Passion for the mission and values of our nonprofit organization.
