Are you passionate about healthcare and looking to join a team that makes a real impact on patient care? We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Medical Record Reviewer. In this role, you'll play an essential part in ensuring our patients receive the best care possible by reviewing medical records to determine appropriate billing codes and necessary documentation.
Your Primary Duties And Responsibilities Will Include
As a Medical Record Reviewer, you'll have the opportunity to work closely with physicians, coding staff, and other professionals to ensure that all patient records are accurate and up to date.
Reviewing medical records to identify all pertinent facts necessary to select the comprehensive diagnoses and procedures that fully describe the patient's condition and treatment.
Coding evaluation and management to appropriate CPT codes and coding diagnoses to appropriate ICD-9 codes.
Meeting with physicians to review documentation, resolve coding issues, and secure signatures for all unsigned dates of service, tagging files for follow-up.
Acting as a lead person and assisting coders with IBC staff with medical terminology and policy interpretation as required.
Assisting with efforts to increase physician awareness of documentation requirements.
Preparing case reports and initiating follow-up for the billing process.
To be considered for this role, you should have previous coding experience or equivalent experience to an associate's degree in a related field. You should also have a working knowledge of medical terminology and related computer systems, as well as knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
In addition, you must have one of the following coding credentials: AHIMA (CCA, CCS, or CCS-P); AAPC (CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H, CPC-H-A, or one of the AAPC specialty-specific coding credentials). The RHIT or RHIA (or eligible) certification in health information management may be recognized in lieu of a coding credential and does not require experience.
We offer a competitive salary range of $24.31 - $36.46 per hour, based on your qualifications and performance.
