More About the Role:
This Cloud/Azure Solution Architect opportunity on the U.S. Navy’s Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT) program will allow participation on a high-visibility DoD program that provides engineering support to the Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI), the largest information technology (IT) network in the world. This position will provide many opportunities to challenge and grow your skills.
A successful candidate will provide technical leadership relating to the transformation of existing Enterprise IT systems and architectures to Cloud / Azure centric solutions, including definition, design, structure, data protection/security, documentation, upgrades, long-range requirements, operational guidelines and delivering innovative ITSM strategies, services and solutions to the NMCI. The candidate will develop innovative approaches to technical issues and problems that impact multiple areas or disciplines. The candidate coordinates with Program Managers, Chief Engineers, Proposal managers, proposal solution leads, Engineering managers, Service Delivery Managers, ITSM process managers, Domain Architects, project managers, customers, stakeholders, and engineers to support ongoing activities as well as new projects to maintain, transform, and modernize the NMCI.
The selected candidate will be a senior member of the SMIT organization, providing strategic leadership, including creation or application of modernization strategies, architectures, roadmaps, and CONOPS. The Solution Architect must be able to understand and apply concepts of current and emerging technologies including, but not limited to, AI ML, Cybersecurity, Digital Transformation, Cloud, Data Science, and broader Leidos technology to bring solutions to our customer as well as drive Leidos’ Independent Research & Development (IR&D) to reflect business priorities.
- Apply knowledge and past experiences in developing and deploying systems on the Cloud, using CI/CD frameworks and infrastructure automation.
- Communicate with stakeholders about status of projects and any problems with technical solutions being implemented.
- Design, modify, and test technical architecture.
- Work with the program team in the design and development of new applications, COTS products and infrastructure, integrating new solutions on existing applications within the Cloud.
- Analyze complex IT development needs, identify solutions to include potential new tools, technologies and recommendations.
- Continually research the current and emerging technologies and propose changes where needed.
- Assist leadership, capture and proposal teams in understanding and addressing technology.
- Provide technical advice/input that impact strategic client outputs and Leidos business results.
- Must be a US Citizen and ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
- A working knowledge of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), AI/ML, Data Analytics, and Cybersecurity.
- Requires Masters with 15-20 years of prior relevant experience or Doctorate with 13-16 years of prior relevant experience (12+ years of prior relevant experience as a Solution Architect or similar role with specific Azure Architecture experience).
- Excellent analytical and consulting skills to understand the needs of an organization and find solutions.
- Experience in Cloud operations such as Azure, AWS, and GCP. Demonstrated knowledge of cloud-based application development.
- Travel may be required.
- Experience working in a DevOps, Continuous Delivery (CICD), and Agile environments using code delivery mechanisms, continuous build systems, code repositories, and continuous delivery solutions.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels including senior executive leadership regarding highly complex and critical topics to negotiate and implement solutions.
- Certification and experience in Agile methodology.
- Working experience on project implementations and migrations in an Azure cloud environment.
- Experience as an IT project manager.
- Security+ equivalent or higher certification (IAT Level II+).
- Multiple years of Azure Architecture experience and Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $142,350.00 - $219,000.00 - $295,650.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
