Job Description
Job Summary:


The Clinical Systems Associate works to ensure the clinical information in JIVA application is working efficiently and effectively. The associate provides further experience and knowledge to ensure all aspects of applications and systems development, build and implementation. The associate may implement software upgrades and testing, define and apply technical knowledge to solve complex problems regarding clinical application systems. The Clinical Systems associate works closely with team members, staff and other personnel to further their understanding of objectives and requirements for the clinical system. The associate may be responsible for understanding change impacts, formulating strategies with key stakeholders, and addressing problems and challenges within the clinical information systems which may include software problems, hardware issues or network difficulties.


Essential Functions:


The essential functions listed represent the major duties of this role, additional duties may be assigned.


  • Work closely with Care Management and development teams to clarify on existing and future enhancements requested. Understands change impacts and resistance and formulate strategies with key stakeholders to address impacts and build commitment. (15%)
  • Identify emails received through support inbox and work in a timely manner or escalate when necessary. Triage and log support tickets in Karmic. Troubleshoot and provide functional solutions for issues reported or coordinate the defect fix with Product and Development teams. (35%)
  • Document solutions and processes by constructing flow charts and collaborating with Clinical Trainers to create end user manuals. Conduct product demos, provide functional and operational use training to the business and assistance during testing. Learn standard procedures and workflows. (15%)
  • Learn standard procedures and workflows. Participates in operational workflow validation including requirements, specifications, and gaining end user acceptance. (10%)
  • Assist with application upgrades and testing from an application perspective to include test plan creation and validation. Coordinates application updates and changes, reviews, and tests each new release, and reports application system testing results. (25%)


Required Work Experience and Qualifications:


  • 1+ years related work experience in Clinical application development and support of users in a healthcare or insurance environment required.
  • Ability to effectively work with people in other departments and/or outside of the enterprise.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate ideas and provide solutions.
  • Clinical system upgrades, implementations, and support experience required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment with competing priorities and ongoing deliverables.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs, Excel (pivot tables), Visio, Project, PowerPoint, Word.


Required Management Experience:


  • No supervisory/management experience required.


Education:


  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in healthcare informatics, computer science, information technology, or related field.


Additional Preferred Qualifications:


  • Previous experience with sentinel rules, configuration preferred.
  • JIVA system experience preferred.
  • 1-2 years of work experience in a technology related role preferred.
  • Karmic ticket application experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with major systems development and implementation preferred.


General Physical Demands:


Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.
