Position Summary:

The Department of Urology seeks to provide all patients with the best urological care. Our clinical trials are designed to strengthen and accelerate the pathway of discovery from the medical laboratory to the clinic.

Under the direction of the Chief Administrative Officer and Director of Clinical Research, the CNII will provide professional nursing care to research participants in Urologic Oncology adults. The incumbent will perform patient assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, and ensure that clinical trials and studies are run according to requirements and regulatory procedure. The Clinical Research Nurse acts as a role model to the subordinate staff and coordinates physicians and patients as requested by the supervisor/manager. Will assist in developing patient education for the assigned clinic and promote good clinical practices and professional management of clinical studies. The Clinical Research Nurse knows how research protocols work in the clinical setting, including rigid timings and procedures; lab handling, processing, shipping, and participant rights as differs from patient rights. They perform IVs, phlebotomy, vital signs which are similar to the hospital or clinic. Clinical research Nurse strive to advocate for their patients while ensuring the integrity of the clinical research study.

Total Compensation:

$56.01 - $76.89 (Hourly Rate)

Required:

1 year of outpatient and inpatient clinical nursing experience in adult acute care

Candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Current California RN license

• Clinical Research Certification • Basic Life Support • Advanced Cardiac Life Support

Knowledge and practice of body mechanics Demonstrates appropriate use of independent judgment and decision making Demonstrates basic knowledge and understanding of anesthetic drugs and monitoring needs Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload Knowledge of database programs such as Excel and Access Knowledge of IRB protocols as they relate to Human subjects

Preferred:

Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families Understanding of JCAHO requirements

Special Conditions Required:

Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
