Clinical Ethicist Jobs

This position is actively engaged in bringing an ethical lens to larger health care issues that face society and health care institutions.

In addition, the Clinical Ethicist serves as a resource across the region on matters related to health care ethics, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Supports regional/local ethics committees and is asked to participate in the activities of various committees/councils.

Contributes to system-wide projects, goals, and strategic planning initiatives.

• Fellowship training in clinical ethics by an established, well-organized program and/or two years of supervised clinical ethics experience in a health care setting, preferred.
• Master’s-Degree in health care ethics, bioethics, philosophy, moral theology, or related discipline with expertise in health care ethics, required.

• Minimum three years clinical experience as an ethicist in a health care organization.

• Demonstrated skills as a Clinical Ethicist - ability to interact with care team, patients, and families to facilitate complex ethical discussions; and ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population.

• Demonstrates exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate leadership, problem-solving, research, analytical, presentation, facilitation, organizational, consultation and training skills.

• Healthcare Ethics Consultant – Certified (HEC-C) designation from the American Society for Bioethics and Humanities (ASBH) preferred. If not currently certified, HEC-C required within 12 months.
